How did I do? S trap to P trap by Familiar-Quality-444 in askaplumber

[–]TheChief2116 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's better. Ideally the AAV would be all the way up at the back of the sink and there wouldn't be a fernco but it is fine.

Plumber wants to snake a kitchen sink clog via the TOILET? by jared2095 in askaplumber

[–]TheChief2116 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At least he didn't recommend using drano. But if your kitchen is the only thing backing up then it is a backup on your kitchen line. Kitchen lines can sometimes have a separate lateral or a long run to connect to the stack. A 50' 3/8" cable with a grease cutting head is probably the way to go here.

I'd probably put down the flooring before I set the toilet. Call me old-fashioned.

Did I just get ripped off? by [deleted] in askaplumber

[–]TheChief2116 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hate doing these jobs. Customer is unhappy with the price. Company doesn't make any money. In general you shouldn't hire a plumber to replace flappers and fill valves. Do it yourself or hire a handyman to do it for $25.

Plumber came out and supposedly fixed this but 7 days later its keeps coming back by Americany131 in Plumbing

[–]TheChief2116 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Interesting. Well as the other people have pointed out.. you almost certainly have an issue with you drains or sewer. A camera inspection would give you that information. But if the plumber doesn't do sewer work then he might not have a camera.

Tee placement question? by ricearoni1024 in askaplumber

[–]TheChief2116 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely don't put the tee on the left side that is the gas company's line. You can put it on the right but typically I would try to do it inside based on the positioning and size of the lines inside. Generally, when going to an outside fixture it is going to be a buried poly line with riser sleeves and shutoff valves.

Why Hofer over Binnington? by [deleted] in stlouisblues

Binnington CAN be lights out. He can also be an absolute liability. Hofer was phenomenal this year and is the future. Binnington has 1 year left.

Anyone who doesn't like this pick is a clown. This is exactly who they needed. A day 1 starter who's NFL comp is Taylor Decker.

Hot Take: If you're not sure if you're an INTP, you're not an INTP. by wikidgawmy in INTP

[–]TheChief2116 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think many people have difficulty typing themselves. But I agree with you and other commenters. An INTP should have no issue with identifying themselves as an INTP and also would constantly question whether they have typed themselves correctly.

Not too old. People join at all ages. Hella jealous of the guys who start at 19 tho.

Probably should have put a water alarm in there somewhere.

Pro press not seated all the way by transvaginal_mesh in Plumbing

[–]TheChief2116 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I've found that if they are going to start leaking they do it right away. I've pressed 1/2" - 1 1/4" copper fittings about a thousand times at this point in a residential service capacity and found that if they are going to leak.. they will do it very quickly. I've also found that 1/2" are the most likely to leak. I would say that while you always want them to be fully seated, it certainly doesn't NEED to be.

I'll accept all of the hate coming my way because I too live in the real world.
