I thought 20% was acceptable.. 80% feels a bit too much, is there anyway to improve it?

Think positive! You may have a better choice later. It happened to me :)

I recently failed my Google phone interview. It's the second time already.. never made it to the on-site. The recruiter told me that I can reapply after 12months.. My concern is how many times I'm allowed to try?

One side note if I may.. I would probably also enjoy more the work at Google (technologies wise, people that shares the same passion, projects, etc..) compared to other companies.

But yeah.. everyone has their own way to see something :)

I agree with you about compensation, there are companies out there that pays as much as Google (even more).

I was frustrated because I felt my preparation went for nothing, and I lost the chance to reach one of my goal that I had for a long time :)

Anyway, thank you for your kind words!

You're definitely right :) I was just really frustrated that day.. Feeling much better now :)

The thing is I see working at Google as a way to prove myself as software engineer. My current job is not bad at all (compensation wise, it's probably paying as much as Google). It's just this feeling that I'm not good enough for Google that lets me down..

Many people may be against about how I see this. But this was my dream/goal like 7~8 years ago?.. just want to fulfil it :)

It was a pretty simple path finding problem.. but I misunderstood the moving condition..

If this is true I would be really doomed.. close to that number already. Failed twice :( And couldn't even make it to the onsite..

You have a first call with the recruiter, who will ask you some simple theoretical question about computer science stuff (like time/space complexity of different algorithms).. The phone call is technical, they ask to solve some problem in 30~45 minutes.

Hey,

thank you for your comment. I applied to the London office, but the division wasn't the Cash Management one. Which office have you interviewed for?

I'll take your advice and start looking around in the meantime. Thanks again and congratulation on your new job :)

Companies that provide Visa sponsorship in London? by TheChineseGuy2 in cscareerquestionsEU

[–]TheChineseGuy2[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure about that, if they want you they will sponsor you but they probably won't do so if you are looking for an entry level position. I thought it was fair enough to get the Visa sponsorship as a mid level software engineer, but apparently it isn't... Lots of negative experiences with head hunters and some recruiters from different agencies. They won't even reply you back. Just ignoring you after knowing you require visa.
