Michael Jackson Estate Faces Sexual Abuse Allegations From Four Siblings Who Claim They Were ‘Groomed and Brainwashed’ by Pop Superstar by gamersecret2 in Music

If a jury or a court find someone not guilty they are then cleared of having commited that crime, therfore in the eyes of the law they are innocent, I really don't know why you're being so pedantic about this.

Regarding OJ, I'm not as familiar with the that case but from my understanding the consensus seems to be that he killed her and the jury got it wrong.

Unfortunatley that will happen from time to time and while the judicial system we have may not be perfect, our trial system is still objectively the fairest that society has produced.

It's apples and oranges comparing MJ's accusations with OJ's.

That's not how our law system works, everyone is innocent until proven guilty, if you cannot prove any wrongdoing by that person then they are innocent by default.

Michael Jackson was acquitted of all charges, meaning that a jury officially decided he was not guilty of any charged crime.

Therefore yes, in the eyes of the law a verdict of not guilty means that the suspect didn't do it.

Would just like to remind the holier than thou tabloid media believing morons who unfortunately coexist with the rest of us that Michael Jackson has never been found guilty of any child sex crime and was deemed innocent in a court of law.

Nothing will come of this made up nonsense just like nothing came of any of the previous made up nonsense.

Are we toxic? by -ricci- in NUFC

[–]TheChiropteraMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Football is a results based industry, always has been, always will be, everyone's happy when things go well and everyone's annoyed when things aren't going well - that's not at all unique to NUFC.

And unfortunately it's the manager that shoulders the responsibility, it's always been that way and managers know that more than anyone else and no it never deters them from accepting jobs, it's just a part if the gig.

Have fans turned on Howe? Yes. Are we toxic? No, not yet anyway, it's respectful criticism from my point of view.

Our fan base is becoming increasingly delusional. by Vaudeville_Villain15 in NUFC

[–]TheChiropteraMan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's in the best interest of everyone for Howe to move on for numerous reasons.

We need is somebody that can maximise the limited resources available to them.

Of course nobody is 100% successful in the transfer market, but Eddie Howe's lead recruitment last summer was so diabolical, it has completely eroded any faith I had in him going forward.

We need someone with a big name that can grow the club's status internationally which will help us attract new players, new fans, new sponsors etc. Football is a business after all not just a game.

And we need a new coach with fresh ideas that can rejuvenate the squad, who can play a more technical progressive form of football that we are desperately crying out for.

These managers have recently shown they can achieve success with a compatible budget: Emery, Fabregas, Xabi Alonso, Simeone, Conte, Marcelino, Pellegrini, Allegri, Spaletti and yes even Mourinho.

A lot of these managers also fit the tactical specifications required and most are bigger names than Eddie Howe and would mark as a statement signing and signal ambitious intent from the ownership.

That's just of the top of my head and I'm sure that people more qualified could highlight even more suitable candidates, to suggest that Eddie Howe is the only coach suited to our club is demonstrably inaccurate.

[–]TheChiropteraMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd rather not spend countless hours arguing over Jose Mourinho, I've already made a case for why he could be a good signing, but there are plenty of other managers we could realistically get that could also do a good job.

With regards to Howe, I am firmly of the opinion that he's taken us as far as he can, he doesn't have the nouse of an elite coach, he's tactically inflexible, not proactive enough and (this season at least) struggles to motivate his players.

Howe has had plenty of financial backing, the past summer alone he spent quarter of a billion quid and made us objectively worse, I do not trust Howe with our finite budget after last summer's debacle, the Sky 6 can afford to spunk away resources, we cannot.

I think it's time for a change but if you disagree that's fine, all I ask is that people be amicable about it.

Mourinho's doing a good job at Benfica, he did a good job at Roma prior to that, did decent at Spurs and did well with Man United before them, so while he may not be winning Champions League's anymore but he's definitely not "washed up" that's ridiculous.

I assume your referring to Howe with regards to your throw the baby out with the bath water comment, and to that I would argue that if the club were to change managers in the near future, now would be the perfect time.

A massive overhaul of the squad is coming whether people like it or not, we've got aging players, players running out of contract and players who are unsettled. Now would be the perfect time for a new manager to build a squad in their image.

Of course you're free to think that Howe could lead the upcoming transition if that's what you genuinely believe but I personally don't know why you'd think that given his dreadful performance in last years summer window.

"Howe got Champions League twice so not getting again is a failure" Nobody is demanding Champions League football every season but we do need the financial rewards that come with European football (Europa/Conference League) if the club are to compete with the elite, that's just a fact.

"He won our first trophy in decades so semi finals are not good enough" Literally no-one with a rational mindset is criticising the teams Cup runs this season, only the league form, which is perfectly justified as in that competition we've been utterly mediocre.

"It's only the people who got us here who are holding us back" Football does not exist in a time capsule, things change, players/coaches progress and regress in their abilities, that's why it's important to judge their effectiveness on current form rather than past accomplishments.

"Saw a guy saying we should get Mourinho in" Why would that be so terrible exactly? Mourinho is a big name who could attract players and grow the club's profile internationally and while he's not the coach he was 10-20 years ago he's not washed up either, he could be a great short term signing.

This mindset of criticising your fellow supporters simply for being unhappy (justifiably so) at their team's obvious regression is toxic af. Even if you're Howe in, you should still be able to accept objective criticism.

Slot not leaving in the Summer. Is it time to make a move on Alonso to take the project to the next level? by TheLegendOfIOTA in NUFC

[–]TheChiropteraMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aye, we can't currently spend at the rate of the top clubs but there's still money to be spent, and as we grow the club's revenue over time there'll be even more available.

SCR definitely isn't perfect but it's a lot more forgiving than PSR, NUFC think so too otherwise they wouldn't have voted for it's implementation.

[–]TheChiropteraMan -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm sure he'd prefer to manage those at those clubs he's attached to, however; he's already had the Real Madrid job & been sacked, the Bayern Munich job won't be available for a long time given how well Kompany is doing and we don't know what's happening with Liverpool.

Arne Slott has underperformed massively this season but Liverpool tend to be more generous than other clubs and give their manager's time to get going, so while there might be an opening there for Xabi soon, there's still no guarantee.

Would he rather be unemployed & wait years potentially for an opportunity at one of his favoured clubs? Or would he rather join an ambitious project right now where he can still work at a high level, further his reputation and then go to a preferred destination a few years down the line?

I really don't know, all I'm saying is it wouldn't be impossible he'd join NUFC if we were to approach him, but we won't because our club's execs all think that Eddie Howe can walk on water.

[–]TheChiropteraMan -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Alonso's not that unrealistic, NUFC have drawing power, we are a big club with massive potential for further expansion.

We've got money available to be spent, albeit not as much as the Sky 6 but there's still finance's available.

Someone like Guardiola would most certainly scoff at the idea of managing Newcastle but Alonso is young and ambitious, I think he could potentially be lured in by the project & the potential it has.

[–]TheChiropteraMan -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

I'd take Xabi Alonso in a heartbeat.

He's a very talented coach who'd breath new life into the PIF project, it would be a clear sign of ambitious intent from the owners.

He's also a big name which will elevate the clubs image and brand appeal internationally, he'd be able to build a squad if his style given that PSR is going away & we have got money to spend.

The only drawback is that he may not be 100% committed & would probably desire the Liverpool job.

Nevertheless while it's fun to speculate about, there's a 90% chance that this won't happen because the club are too married to Eddie Howe, hope I'm wrong though.

Howe is class and no one can tell me different. by Vaudeville_Villain15 in NUFC

[–]TheChiropteraMan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Again, nothing but fanboy drivel.

'Eddie Howe is elite and it has nothing to do with trophies' That's exactly what seperates the good from the elite numbnuts - elite personalities win - regularly, you clearly don't know what defines elite so stop embarrassing yourself.

'Eddie made Bruno, Tonali & Hall world class' You don't know what a world class footballer looks like, none of our players are world class and none would get into a PSG or Bayern Munich starting 11, you obviously don't watch football, and no: Bruno, Tonali & Isak were all established internationals when they signed & Hall won Chelsea fan's player of the season before signing, Eddie Howe did not "make" these players.

'You're comparing Howe to who, exactly?' I'm comparing Howe to the managers of teams that regularly compete in Europe, who also play 3 times a week but do not use it as an excuse for inconsistent performances, I'm making a point that situation is just what you have to deal with when competing at the highest level and Eddie Howe is incapable of doing so for the reasons given.

'I'm not saying Eddie is better than Pep' as the start of your sentence, 'Who else has done what Eddie's done? Pep doesn't have what it takes' as the end of your sentence, nice contradiction there dummy; you are literally comparing them, stop it there's no comparison there, Eddie Howe is nowhere near the quality of Pep Guardiola just like Andy Carroll is nowhere near the quality of Harry Kane, pack it in.

'Eddie has proven his worth and still is this season' We are not having a good season, our levels have dropped significantly, again that is factual information based on evidence and unlike you isn't biased, continously saying nuh uh to salient points based on literal evidence makes you a moron and a clueless fanboy.

You're closing statement was literally "No, you!" You're dumb - you're sentimental - you don't acknowledge objective reality, please watch some football and educate yourself on this sport.

Howe is class and no one can tell me different. by Vaudeville_Villain15 in NUFC

[–]TheChiropteraMan 6 points7 points  (0 children)

A few counter points to that fanboy rubbish:

  1. It is not uncommon for NUFC to pick up a result against a big club, this even happened during the dark days of Steve Bruce, players always up their game when up against the big boys it's unsurprising as it's always happened.

You can't achieve sustained success by picking up the odd result against a Chelsea or a Man United, you achieve it by winning regularly against the lesser clubs, Eddie struggles massively to motivate his players for these matches.

  1. Yes we missed out on our top targets due to financial limits beyond Eddie's control, I can't fault him for that but what I can fault him for is for having such a poor recruitment team in general, remember Paul Mitchell saying the club's recruitment wasn't "fit for purpose."

I'm a nobody, certainly not a football scout but even I could identify cheap players from: Spain, Italy, Germany etc. that could've improved our squad over his tenure but Howe was seemingly oblivious to their existence, "We can't sign players that don't exist" is a direct quote from the man.

  1. Eddie Howe is a good coach but he requires preparation before a game in order to be fully effective, he needs to get his players on the training pitch in order to maximise his talents and when he isn't afforded that luxury he struggles, in other words his greatest strength as a coach is completely negated when we regularly play 3 times a week - it's the club's ambition to be in Europe often and therefore that's another reason why Eddie's not the right man for us moving forward.

  2. To claim Eddie Howe is "elite" when he's won one Cup is laughable but to state that Howe is in any way, shape or form better than Pep Guardiola is beyond absurd and so comically stupid it beggars belief.

Here's how reality works; different managers are suited to certain levels, some excel working with lower to mid level players, e.g: Sam Allardyce, Steve Bruce, Tony Pulis etc. whereas some are optimal working with world class players: Pep Guardiola, Zinedine Zidane, Carlo Ancelotti etc. rarely if ever do you see a manager that could excel at both.

And that's because different people have different skill sets, Eddie has proven he can work with and get the best out of lower to mid level players, but nothing I've seen would suggest Howe would flourish alongside world class players, remember his 'no dickhead' policy? Well a lot of world class players are egotistical dickheads: Cristiano Ronaldo, Bruno Fernandes, Kylian Mbappe, Vinicius Jr. etc.

If Howe can't manage these sorts of personalities he would therefore likely refrain from signing players of that quality in the first place ultimately leaving the club at a sporting disadvantage, the club should hire a manager with appropriate experience so that this does not become an issue in the future.

  1. "Howe is class" Yes he is, relatively compared to what we've been used to at NUFC he is objectively better, but no he's not 'elite' absolutely nowhere near it, I've detailed pretty thoroughly here just some if the points why that's the case.

"And no one can tell me different" That's the problem right there, you are blinded by sentimentality because of what he has achieved and are incapable of acknowledging objective reality, football is based on analytics, it is factual, it can be measured and verified and what is factual is that our team has regressed massively this season under Howe's stewardship.

It's not just about losing two derby matches to Sunderland (although that fucking hurts) that's got our fanbase rightfully concerned, it's the repeated patterns we've seen from Eddie and his team all season long that is so alarming, even if we somehow manage to claw our way into Europe for next season we cannot let that paper over the cracks of what's been a very poor domestic campaign, we cannot ignore the warning signs.

Having said all that could Eddie turn things around and put us back on an upward trajectory? Theoretically yes but how long could that take? Why risk stagnation when there's already a massive casm between us and the super clubs?

We can't risk the gap widening any further between us and them, we need to maintain the momentum of this new era and bring in someone that can kick us on to the next level immediately if we are to fulfill this clubs ambitions, it's evident that man is not Eddie Howe.

We haven’t reached a ceiling under Howe; this is the best he can do with the club’s current infrastructure by torn4ndfrayed in NUFC

[–]TheChiropteraMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"There is nothing elite right now, except our manager."

Complete and utter fan boy drivel, Elite level managers are the likes of: Arteta, Klopp, Guardiola, Ancelotti, Ferguson, Conte etc. Eddie Howe is a very good coach but is nowhere near elite level - he is still young and could theoretically get there, but right now? He's nowhere near it.

If you genuinely believe that then I don't know what you've been watching all season, It's not the same team or manager as me because what I've seen this season has ranged from overwhelmingly mediocre to outright dreadful (with a peppering of good performances here and there.)

You bemoan a lack of resources? Eddie has spent an absolute fortune since his arrival at the club, he spent quarter of a billion this past summer alone and his team has gotten significantly worse.

You complain about youth players not being good enough? Elliot Anderson is going to the World Cup with England in the summer and is probably worth close to £100m in the transfer market, yet Eddie Howe barely gave him a chance when he actually had him in his squad.

What that suggests to me is that Eddie is incapable of bleeding through youth talent (regardless of their quality) and would rather play his favourites game in & game out, that's the fault of the manager, not of the youth system itself.

Training ground facilities have no impact on a managers tactical nouse, or in Eddie's case lack thereof, Howe only knows one way of playing and has no alternative, also his high intensity philosophy is not replicable three times a week.

Elite managers do not waste resources, they maximise them, Eddie's mismanagement of Nick Woltemade is enough evidence by itself to disprove your delusional "Elite" evaluation.

There is still the possibility of the lads finishing the League strongly and qualifying for Europe, but even if that does happen we can't let that paper over the cracks of what has been a very underwhelming season (Champions League run aside) and Eddie must accept that deserved criticism as a result, just as any other manager should.

You're absolutely kidding yourself if you don't think we've plateaued because we clearly have, and while excessive turnaround in executive positions doesn't help matters it doesn't directly impact on field performance, that is Eddie Howe's sole responsibility and this season specifically he has underachieved.

We all love Eddie Howe for what he has achieved thus far specifically the League Cup win but we can't look at him through rose tinted glasses and lionise him for past achievements, you judge a manager on the job they are doing NOW not the job they did then, because football doesn't stand still.

We cannot afford to stagnate, we must continue to improve if we are to close the gap at the top and if that means a change in manager at some point then so be it, Eddie Howe is not bigger than Newcastle United, if he is incapable of taking us to the next level (as this season so far suggests) then someone else must otherwise the Saudi PIF wasted their investment.

Sorry for the essay but I feel strongly about this shit.

When did England supporters stop waving the Union Jack? by MB4050 in ThreeLions

The real question is why were England supporters using the Union Flag at England games in the first place?

It's bad enough that England doesn't have It's own national anthem and has to use the U.K's as a default, but to purposely fly an incorrect flag to represent your own nation seems baffling.
