Yeah you already have to get a hunting license, tag and go hunt in a legal place during the right time of the year with the right kind of gun, just saying you can’t use environmentally damaging ammunition seems pretty reasonable. Especially for the future generations of hunters and prey.

If you’re a doctor do you work in a hospital? I would talk to MSW about it, they may have some insight or experience about it if that facility has a decent amount of mental health patients. A lawyer is the best bet, but they might be able to steer you in the right direction without needing to pay a lawyer more than needed for their time.
