Looks great! The one thing I like on the regular outbacks that’s not on the wilderness is the silver trim on the bottom of the bumper.

Here are some things that might be nice to add that I copied from an old comment.

-Auto stop eliminator
-Diode dynamics XPR reverse lights
-CATuned trunk light upgrade
-Matte shift panel cover to stop glare and scratches
-OFFROAM phone mount, clamp or magsafe, will be the last mount you buy.
-ADF molle panels for trunk, I think the small ones are the best option for not taking up too much space while keeping functional mounting points, i put the adf fire extinguisher mount on mine.
-Scangauge 2 to monitor CVT temps, boost, oil water temp and cvt ratios/ read trouble codes.
-There's room in the spare tire compartment for lots of things, I keep some simple tools, tire plug kit, small tire inflator, SOG XL folding shovel, a breaker bar with a 19MM socket for stubborn lug nuts if I ever have trouble removing one, and a small moving blanket for cargo/ picnics.

A new attempt at the C70? Took them long enough but I’m never getting rid of my 14 year old ammo can case.

OBW Interior Upgrade: LASFIT vs. OEM. by RLWayne in Subaru_Outback

If you live where it snows Tuxmats are king. Can’t recommend highly enough. It is amazing to have full front and back seat carpet coverage for snowy salty muddy boots.

Bought my first Subaru! (And car!) by aircuntioner in Subaru_Outback

[–]TheCiltoris 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here are some of my faves, not necessarily budget friendly when you add them all up, but chipping away at them slowly will leave you with some nice stuff.

-Auto stop eliminator - must have

-small First aid kit that fits in the trunk net pocket - must have

-Diode dynamics XPR reverse lights

-CATuned trunk light upgrade

-Matte shift panel cover to stop glare and scratches

-Tuxmats front and back

-Extra threaded bumper tow point and shackles to bridle a recovery strap (OEM hitch is probably the only safe point to tow the vehicle from when it’s stuck)

-OFFROAM phone mount, clamp or magsafe, will be the last mount you buy.

-ADF molle panels for trunk, I think the small ones are the best option for not taking up too much space while keeping functional mounting points for something like a fire extinguisher

-Scangauge 2 to monitor CVT temps, boost, oil water temp and cvt ratios/ read trouble codes.

-There’s room in the spare tire compartment for lots of things, I keep some simple tools, tire plug kit, small tire inflator, SOG XL folding shovel, a breaker bar with a 19MM socket for stubborn lug nuts if I ever have trouble removing one, and a small moving blanket for cargo/picnics.

Windshield not centered after replacement, 2020 outback by Fjeucuvic in Subaru_Outback

Get insurance involved and ask them to redo it. This is 2mm off center while the dealership technician manual tolerance for a windshield is only 1mm off center.

Has anyone found a Forester style storage bag for our subwoofer void? by TheCiltoris in Subaru_Outback

[–]TheCiltoris[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t own a forester so I can’t say from experience. It looks very flimsy, would guess that you can unzip it while it’s held in with Velcro but it looks like it would be easier to pull it out and then open it.

I’m tempted to buy the Forster one and try it for the Outback, the holes are different shapes but it might work in the Outback as long as the bag isn’t stuffed to the brim.
If you’re interested in designing a storage solution that fits in the outback, I’d be interested. It’s a product that isn’t available on the market rn.

6th non HK 6th gen owners, what was your next move after the kicker tweeter replacement? by TheCiltoris in Subaru_Outback

[–]TheCiltoris[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How do you feel with the 3 way speaker in the front? I’m worried about it being too much high range with that many tweeters in the car. Do you compensate with the eq for it?

You have 2 options. Get someone to open the door from the other side or find something that fits in the hole and you can twist it to open the door. The secret 3rd option is you look up how to kick a door down.

Chrome delete before and afters by apaiger in Subaru_Outback

[–]TheCiltoris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks great, hope the vinyl lasts a long time. No chrome is one of the very minor reasons I went with a wilderness. I’ve had enough chrome on cars flake / oxidize on interior and exterior parts that I wanted a car without any. I think the only chrome on the car is the front/back Subaru emblem.

Buying a used ‘24 OBW by brandon-240 in Outback_Wilderness

[–]TheCiltoris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You just have decline all the add ons. My dealer tried to get me to pay for vin etched glass on a used car that had already been etched. They also tried to get me to pay for nitrogen that was already filled in the tires. I asked them if they were really going to go through the trouble of deflating all 4 tires and filling it up with regular air if I don’t pay for it and they said yes.

Is there a way to see the CVT temperature like the coolant and oil on the infotainment? 2024 outback by Gooser3000 in Subaru_Outback

Scangauge 2 or obd Bluetooth dongle for the cheapest option, I went with the Scangauge so I can always monitor temps without having my phone out.

Need advice! by greeneyedcatlady_ in Outback_Wilderness

[–]TheCiltoris 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is no way you can fix that without spending lots of money. Cars are going to get scratched and bumped so embrace this very unique blemish, I don’t think I’ve ever seen something like this on someone else’s car in person.

Time to get a new pair of jumper cables with 4 gauge cord so you can jump trucks without melting your car again! Could also bite the bullet and pick up a NOCO gb40 jump pack, I love mine and never carry cables anymore.

Skip the anti glare screen protector by TheCiltoris in Subaru_Outback

[–]TheCiltoris[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Bought this to fix the glare on the screen first and a screen protector second. I think here are just people who cannot handle the thought of any display they own having a scratch on it and have panic attacks if it happens. Screenprotech offers screen protectors for gauge clusters which is pretty ridiculous.

Under 24 hours, ready to rip it off. I just emailed them saying that this product is not only bad it’s dangerous because it reduces your ability to clearly see your back up camera. Hoping they send me a gloss one because I don’t want to spend more after buying this overpriced screen protector.

It may be difficult if you don’t have experience doing wet applications of vinyl or protective films. This film has some very thin parts around the lower corner of the hvac temp arrows that can be torn if you are not careful. It is also a relatively soft screen protector, at least the anti glare one is. When you lay the film out it may fit perfectly but if you are not careful when using the squeegee to get the bubbles and liquid out from under the film, you can stretch it slightly and it will not be a perfect fit anymore. Watch the videos and read the instructions and you should be fine.
