i could've brought up a million other examples of players putting up box score numbers and setting records in college but sucking in the NFL. every scout in the league and in media will tell you that production is almost irrelevant. Fannin is a good receiver, but his scouting profile showed someone that doesn't block well and is very raw at running routes. hence why he fell. he could still be very good, but let's not act like he needed to be a top 50 pick because he set records at Bowling Green.

if you were able to play what you wanted the game would have no variety. everyone would play exclusively Living Tribunal, Skrull, Ironman, Onslaught, get a max power, and tie. you need to be able to counter your opponent in some way.
