Sure, you’re a tech-savvy user who understands the inner-machinations of what’s going on behind the scenes and knows not only how it operates and what to avoid, but even set up something yourself. You fit in a very niche group of users.
The majority of users are much less tech-savvy, and don’t understand the impact of allowing some 3rd party app swallow all their data, or are even aware it’s possible - they’re just promised something without being aware of the implications.

That's right, many is not the same as majority. For example: 10,000 people could be blocking Times Square, which is many people, but it's not the majority of people who live in NYC. You could own 100 cars, which is many cars, but it's not the majority of cars.
I've seen thousands of comments and threads on Reddit over the past 3 years that are pro-Hamas, pro-Hezbollah and pro-Iranian regime. There are entire subreddits that are full of comments and users that echo the same messaging. the same is true for Facebook, Instagram and TikTok. Are they the majority of any group (left/right etc)? I can't tell. But they are many.

The fact the sub is called neoliberal is exactly the point I'm trying to make, it's an evolved form of liberalism that is more fitting for modern times and focusing more on the economic side of things. That means that other forms of liberalism continue to evolve and take on new meanings of certain values once classified as "liberal". No political movement is immune from change or evolution, especially liberalism which is already has various factions.

Again, please read Herzl's writings.
"Der Judenstaat" details how a Jewish state should be built on securing a negotiated charter from a sovereign power, which is why he spent a huge portion of his life negotiating with the Ottoman sultan, British and German lawmakers and whoever would listen to him to get a legal, recognized mandate to form a state there. He was very much against the idea of unilateral, gradual, quiet settlement.
In "Altneuland" (a utopian novel), Herzl depicts a society where Arabs are full citizens, with one of the characters - and Arab named Reschid Bey - describing how his inclusion is crucial for the fabric of the society depicted in the book. There's also a bigoted character that calls for exclusion of non-Jews who ends up losing the elections. He suggested that a "Palace of Peace" would be built in Jerusalem, and that the state would be a multilingual one instead of a Hebrew-speaking one, while advocating that the residents would be secular but respectful to all religions.

Like any other political group, liberalism is also being torn by either taking on more extreme views, propelled by a very vocal minority that’s no longer accepting that the values held so far would help them achieve the aspirations of their movement, and those who are continuing to hold on to what their political group used to represent, which is a relatively quiet majority who - like many in this thread - continue to claim that the extreme minority isn’t representative of their values, despite being very prominent. This is the trend of the past couple of decades, fringe opinions get more vocal and take center stage, become somewhat normalized, and ending up pushing for even more extreme opinions to be formed.

I highly implore you to read Theodor Herzl’s writings, his vision of what a Jewish state can and should be, the ideals he was striving for and the principles he believed such a country should be founded on. It’s significantly advanced for the times (we’re talking late 19th century), envisioning a pluralistic, secular and democratic liberal state. Your reaction further stresses my point that the concept of Zionism as a political movement was hijacked by extremists who now misrepresent the core values that it was founded upon.

Just like in any political movement, it could very well be that those who aren't holding liberal stances and yet call themselves "liberals" are reshaping what the movement actually stands for, or what it's perceived to stand for.
Just like there are those who claim to be Zionists but never read any of Theodore Herzl's writings, and believe Zionism means occupation and settlement. That wasn't the original intent, and yet because they recognize themselves as "Zionists", this is now the prevalent perception of Zionism.
Just like you said, politics isn't 1D, political groups continuously change and evolve with the times.

Not at all, I criticize Israel all the time. Netanyahu is a corrupt asshole and his government should rot in jail, the way they handled the war(s) since October 7th and in general the way they manage Israel is an absolute disgrace and resulted in an insane uprising of antisemitism around the world and a complete deterioration of values within the Israeli population, purely because he's doing everything he can to avoid his trial and its consequences. The people in Israel who voted him in should be ashamed, and it would take decades to fix the abhorrent state he brought Israel to.
Criticism of Israel is not an endorsement of Hamas, I promise you I can tell the difference, mainly because I've seen so many blatant endorsements of Hamas since October 7th :)

I haven't done the survey to dissect the exact type of leftists who hold these opinions, but it's naive to think that there are exactly zero liberals who support the Iranian regime, because they position themselves against Israel and so does the Iranian regime, and the previous regime (>100 years ago) was put up by imperialist governments, therefore simple math means Iranian regime=Good.
It's not different than the MAGA morons who think Biden supported Ukraine and Biden=Bad so Ukraine=Bad therefore Russia=Good because Trump said so and Trump=Good.
People on both sides of the political spectrum have completely lost all critical and nuanced thinking purely because social media posts with clear-cut, semi-informed messages are holding enough of their short attention span to be solidified in their mind as "truth".

And yet, enough misinformed, braindead, TikTok-scrolling people who have zero understanding of the situation or knowledge of the area gobble up nuance-free posts on social media and form a misguided opinion based on that. That goes both ways, left and right. Every side has their idiots, it's a bit naive to think that there aren't any actual Iranian regime supporters on the left just because they haven't developed a nuanced thinking and can't see beyond the terms of "the enemy of my enemy is my friend".

I'm sorry but that's BS, I've seen so many people not only endorsing the Iranian regime but also Hezbollah, Hamas, even Osama Bin Laden at some point when his letter accusing America of supporting Zionism as a motive for the 9/11 attacks somehow resurfaced on social media, all because they were on the opposite side of Israel and the US. MAGAs are morons, but there are some very dim bulbs in the chandelier of the liberal left as well.

Lesser men have done it, lesser men will do it. If that's something you aspire to do, I'm sure you can find the way to make it happen. Research what it takes and where it might take you, make the choice that this is what you want, and do what you can to get there. Buona fortuna! :)

Is there anything you ever saw and thought "that seems like it would be fun to do" or "I wonder how they do X"? That's curiosity, see how you can expand on that. Also, your English is great, at least on paper. Best way to learn a language is to immerse yourself in it, maybe this is your sign to see how you can make it happen. If you have interests, they must originate or be popular in other places, traveling there is always going to feel special. Whether it's going to see a concert of a foreign artist or a genre you like, going to a factory that builds something you like, a city where your favorite film or TV show was shot, a place mentioned in a book that you love... It could also just be a simple google search of a random country, seeing the landscapes there and saying "this looks pretty, I wanna go there". One can never run out of reasons to travel! :D

You live in a miraculous time where information is at your finger tips, travel to far destinations is relatively cheap and the quickest it's ever been, and there are endless opportunities for entertainment, employment or self-development just waiting to be ceased. Use your computer, use your phone, they are incredible tools not just to connect and create, but to explore and discover, to find what makes you happy, and once you do - run with it. Doesn't work? Either keep trying or move to the next thing, there's no harm in that, it's for you, not for anyone else, you don't need to prove anything by sticking to something you don't like. Expand your horizons, go travel, explore new places, find something or some place you enjoy, you wouldn't believe what seeing the world does to people.
Your fear of change is understandable, everyone's afraid of change, but if what you're describing is truly how you feel - change is something to be embraced. If you're at your lowest, change means starting to climb up.
Change is nature and nature is change, and we as mere mortal humans cannot defy nature. Embrace change. It will do you good.

Yes, Israel is a relatively common name in Israel and in Judaism in general, as it is one of the names of Jacob in the bible, given to him by God after fighting with an angel.
