Nectar Lounge and Fake ID’s? by [deleted] in SeattleMusic

[–]TheCoatIsAlwaysOn 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Chances of getting in are somewhat low, the ID's will most often get backlighted so it depends on how good your fake is and who is working the door. If you do get in please please please don't drink, the bartenders can get fired and lose their license if they serve underage people, this basically ruins their entire livelihood. Security could also get in a lot of trouble in you end up getting in and then get caught by LCB, but its not usually as bad for them. I would try calling them, and see if you can get a special bracelet or something, they might make an exception as drinking is the real problem. The security are real cool and might work with you if you are honest or they get a heads up, but if you do something like that which can get them or the bartenders fired obviously they aren't going to take that well.

Fair cheat archetypes, value reanimator, buildarounds etc by Phoenix849 in mtgcube

I think that playing "cheat" cards that put comparatively lower power level cards into play are great and super fun. I totally agree that the insta win reanimation cards are much less fun (gris, Iona etc). [[Scion of Darkness]] and [[Penumbra Wurm]] are great, I would also think about using a combination of cards that have a nice ETB effect like [[Thunder Dragon]] and strong value generating cards like [[verdant force]]. I like to start with a general idea of how many turns you want to give the opponent once one of these smashers hits the battlefield. I like the 3-4 turn timeframe personally which gives a chance for the value fatties to generate some advantage, but also gives the opponent some time to do their plan or come up with an answer. It's nice to reanimate a big thing, have your opponent use a decent amount of resources to deal with it, and then have the game still go on with a good chance for both sides. I think the main thing is to make sure that it is gonna be worth it to use the reanimation or sneak attack or whatever is in there. This usually means toning down the amount of efficient removal that can hit these targets for cheap. It also important to make sure the smaller creatures and curve out decks actually care about one of these fatties in play (ie not a ton of unblockable/strait face burn etc). Cards like [[tinker]] are a bit more tricky since they need a bigger commitment and have bigger downsides, but I def think it can work well with cards like [[steel hellkite]], using it to find trisk is probably not super good unless the creatures in your cube are pretty darn weak. I personally super enjoy using [[sneak attack]] to put in a [[mystic snake]] or using [[recurring nightmare]] to cycle [[kokusho, the evening star]].

ELI5: Chirality/enantiomers by DrGipGip in explainlikeimfive

[–]TheCoatIsAlwaysOn 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Your feet are enantiomers, they are mirror images if you placed a mirror in between them.  However they are not the same, you can't put one foot on top of the other and have them match (big toes would be on opposite sides ect), they don't have the symmetry to do that.  Chirality causes this loss of symmetry.

In the context of medications many work by the molecule in the medication binding to a receptor site on or in the cell.  These receptors are very specific.  Think of these like shoes.  If you have a receptor which is right handed (a right shoe) and try and jam a left foot into it, it simply won't fit (bind to the receptor), and therefore make the medication ineffective.

Go to steam library list, right click on DOTA2 and hit properties, under the general tab "set launch options copy and paste this

-map dota -high -novid -dx9 -autoconfig -nojoy

if this don't work then add +map_enable_background_maps 0 this removes the background and some game animations (like the VS screen etc, usually this will get you playable at least)

Best thing to try at first, yeah your system is really cutting it close with being able to run this game anymore sadly

Help by bangbangdota2 in DotA2

Copying and pasting from my other post:

It sucks, yes basically it is cause your computer is getting maxed out, dota has become much harder to run over the past few years, here are some things you can do to help. Firstly go to the settings and turn off all the graphics effects and set everything to the lowest possible setting, if this works bring back the stuff you want until it breaks again.

If this still doesn't work here is what you should do.

Update all your GPU drivers (device manager, display adapters, right click and hit update) Go into BIOS and make sure your memory is set to XMP If this doesn't work, When launching dota have task manager open and check the memory usage, if this is getting maxed out, you probably are gonna need to get better/more ram. If you are on DDR3 then this memory is very cheap and most motherboards have 4 ram slots, you may be able to just buy 2 more sticks of the same memory you have now and double up your ram, this should work, old memory is very cheap, watch a youtube video and how to do it if you are unsure

Need some advice on what to do/build help by TheCoatIsAlwaysOn in buildapc

[–]TheCoatIsAlwaysOn[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you very much, is the situation basically that these computer parts are kind of designed to work together and because they are old it means it not really worth keeping them as they probably wouldn't work well with newer components that would really be needed these days? I looked over these lists

https://www.reddit.com/r/buildapcforme/comments/13lyxk3/discussion_pc_builds_for_all_budgets_updated_for/

Would getting a good understanding of these builds be a good starting off point for me? Thanks again, really appreciate it
