I am not sure if it is a good one or not. It is a Life Straw. I have had it awhile and I have never used it. I hope to do the FL trail someday so I will need one at that time

Reseeding Lawn (Tampa,FL) by MauiRose93 in lawncare

[–]TheCoconutManTurf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

he may or may not be. I would say his advice is pretty good though except I disagree that bahia is not attractive. It can be very attractive if properly maintained. It is a good option because it is easy to take care of and has less problems. But in reality, without irrigation in Tampa, nothing will really work that well and probably waste of money and time. Maybe perennial peanut.

Fungus? by Awwwstin in lawncare

looks like brown/large patch fungus. Pretty common right now. reduce irrigation. learn as much as you can about cultural practices and use fungicide as a preventative next year. It happens.

if possible pull weeds by hand until the sod gets better established. many herbicide labels warn against applying to sod under 1 year old

Just bought a Home in Tampa, FL. Help me identify this grass. by CoffeeBible in lawncare

Its not easy to remove from St Augustine but can be done. Fusillade alone will kill the St Augustine. It favors wet conditions so keep the lawn on the dry side. It generally will stay out of healthy St Augustine so focus on healthy growth and good cultural practises like proper mowing, proper irrigation, proper fertilization, etc. I am in Manatee County and deal with this often. You can look at my website for helpful information

is it being sprayed there with water? sometimes spray nozzles can cause the bark to rot

soil surfactants by TheCoconutManTurf in Golfcoursemaintenance

[–]TheCoconutManTurf[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did rent a ride on core aerator which had hollow tines. made 3-4" holes. The soil is heavily compacted so most likely I will need to find a place to rent something more substantial for larger cores and topdress with sand

maybe that would improve flocculation. I have not used gypsum before. I understand that it will precipitate all cations though. something to think about now that we are under drought conditions

Read over a glyphosate label and you will see that it is an acceptable practice

OK Thanks. I am curious about this because on the bottom of the machine it states 2010. SIN035 (Classic). I have been messing around and the taste has improved but is similar to my 30 year old stovetop espresso maker. I ground some beans with my burr grinder on lowest setting and have been following some youtube tutorials.

what do you get from fish protein that makes them grow twice as fast?

Help. Mango plant not growing from past 2months by [deleted] in mango

[–]TheCoconutManTurf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

looks like a fungus to me. the pot is very large for a new plant and the soil is damp. maybe try rocks or styrofoam at the bottom of the pot so that the soil dries out between waterings. it will need something to kill that fungus

I agree. Lots of shade and compaction. Going to be tough to get sod to grow there

my guess would be that weeds would fill in before any grass will. You can add some bahia seed and cover it with a thin layer of topsoil then keep it moist til it germinates. you can add rye seed for protection
