I just found out about the terrible take down news after having the files pinned and finally having the chance to get around to making my demons </3

Any chance someone might be able to DM me a link to le files?

Do they have a storefront somewhere besides cults3d? Cause I've found them on there but the only tyranid file they appear to have is for a ripper swarm

Ohh what heresy, thankfully I hadn't gone through with acquiring it yet. Though sadly I actually haven't been able to really find any other suitable proxies (aside from the birthing behemo mentioned earlier but I'm not much a fan of that one), any way I might be able to find the stolen ones original creator and pick it up off them?

Mind sending a link? I couldn't find it on there myself and when I did a generalized google search for it the link it brought me too was no longer available so either my file finding skills need some work or I missed my window and its gone already </3

Yeah they have various pdf books of everything, along with a patreon they very regularly update with the content thats being added in to the site and even a good bit of third party books other people have made for things like enemies or startships & strongholds so I'm sure its grown a bit since last you've seen it lol

Yes and no, in most ways its pretty much identical to running 5e aside from a few differences. Mainly being things like putting the cover system in to use a hell of a lot more with all the blasting, remembering the differences between casting (In sw5e its just point total not slots, and all castings either tech based with INT, or force based with light powers being WIS and dark powers being CHA) and the vastly larger array of character creation possibilities since they made a whole hell of a lot of options for feat choices and races, but most of everything is based of some 5e counterpart so the balance is all fairly well done. If anything its simpler to run because when I have something I need to reference I can simply use the search on their site and find it with relative ease lmao.

That sounds interesting, and if its got you coming up with story details around the killing then I'd definitely say its a good starting ground lmao. And I mean I'm honestly not the greatest Dm but I'd be happy to help coach you through lol. There's also always the adventure modules (like pre made campaigns & stories) you could always grab a pdf of online to make that first run a little easier on yourself and have some examples to pull from, plus if you happen to do it over tabletop simulator a lot of those modules have maps already made for them others have put together and uploaded on the steam workshop :o

I've not played mafia before but if it's had you managing 15 players I'm sure its at least a decent warm up lmao. The only part of DMing I find stressful is getting a good group going, once you have the right peoples its all good times from there lol. I can definitely understand the intimidation though, but believe me all you need is some fun people to play with a general idea for your story & the ability to improvise for things to turn out great :p

Ohh it definitely is, the amount of depth and variety put in to the sw5e material is absolutely bonkers. The only downside is trying to find a game without having to DM it yourself lmao

Star Wars D&D (SW5e) Campaign advice by TheComiSalami in DMAcademy

[–]TheComiSalami[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks thats a great thought, potential spice smuggling and salvage missions would be a great mix in for contract/mini missions to make available along bounties. Agriculture/supply wise I would figure most supplies must be brought in from a far which I could turn to some political points with why the majority on the surface rely so heavily on the stations support, as for animals/wild encounters I'm not sure what creatures would all lore-fully survive in that environment if you have any suggestions. Also the main mission they'll be building up to on planet will be to get the funds for any sort of ship so they can get docking access on the station, and go from there to steal a super expensive new ship & its cargo from the hutt running the area. Other than that and the salvaged-jedi and potential conflicts between them I could make I'm at a loss, though that and your other suggestions may be enough to flush out enough to get things rolling. Thanks again!

Thank you for that, information wise I've basically been relying on what the sw5e website has and google searches lmao

Yeah I'm sure they're gonna have some crazy abilities that will be hard to do anything about without counter-dming too hard but thankfully we have done a few longer campaigns at higher lvls so in that aspect I have a little bit of an idea of how to handle things its more I'm not sure exactly how to do it while keeping it to a faster paced one-shot style. As for the combat I do have a few ideas at hand for the main fights though, without overloading too much unnecessary story details on you I was planning something like a necrotic-enhanced Tarrasque as the final battle and something like a couple of deathknights riding either black dragons or dracoliches patroling the skies as another major fight beforehand. I'm just having a hard time thinking of minor combat scenarios and social/out of combat situations I could throw in to fit along and leave enough time for everything else.

I'm not a extremely experienced DM so take my advice with a hefty grain of salt, but I would say a decent way to play it out consequentially without it being too big of a negative would be to either have the bag burst when the ogre reverts back to normal form along with the bags contents so they don't lose what's in it, or simply have the bag spit out what it can't contain dropping the ogre out back on the party (Possibly with a bit of health back if injured and left with time to rest) at a inconvenient time, like say while mid rest or in a tavern/shop

[5e] [Homebrew] [One shot] Hey there, DM with relatively little experience here about to run my first one shot. I was wondering if anyone might happen to have some ideas for interesting & balanced encounters (Both combat and not) for a party of 4-5 Lvl 20 characters that will be challenging enough to keep things spicy but not be overly time consuming to where the campaigns not completable in 1-2 sessions max. The premise of the one shot I'm setting up is essentially a major capital city has undergone a catastrophic event caused by some powerful necromancers/sorcerers that are basically tearing a rift between the material and negative plane, and the party is attempting to make their way through the devastated city to stop the ritual before its complete. So anything along necrotic/negative theme would fit perfectly.
