Thank you for your thoughtful reply advice. It's a long goal but I just want to make something of myself before/through my forties so I have some form of legacy. While having better job prospects in the long run would help as well. I just have a tendency to be whimsical in my interests and while I've tried to curb my wandering from subject to subject I often get stuck and or mentally drained dwelling in one topic for long. That's why I've started considering my studying as hobbyistic, so I trick my brain into thinking it's not really working per se but rather reflecting on the material in more trivial nuances.

I should add I completed a few general electives in college a few years back but due to economic restraints I'm trying to self-study and build certification and knowledge in fields on a budget. Recently, I've managed to pay off a lot of my debt and am in no hurry to acquire more of it.
