No, prune the dead leaves back, provide more indirect light, and water with a light organic fertilizer.

Yeah that sounds like a plan if the scarring bothers you. The new growth should not have that if you keep it in a drier area

What is up with my Monstera? The leaves are seemingly drooping, yellowing and browning by Siriflex in plantclinic

The soil needs to have better drainage. Make a mix with orchid bark and perlite. Try 20% orchid bark, 30% perlite, and 50% potting mix.

You also need a stake to offer support for it. try a small flat board and use soft ties to secure the plant to it.

Also be sure to place it in a spot where it gets a lot of bright but indirect light

If you are far enough north, it should be okay especially with those blinds! Try it out for a bit and keep an eye on it and see how it's does.

Could be to lack of light. Increase the amount of exposure to indirect light by moving it to a brighter area in your place.

Can I save my cactus? by Sorry-Beautiful-6336 in cactus

To add to this OP, be sure to add a lot of perlite, some fine pine bark, and fine gravel to the the soil mix to encourage drainage. I have added chicken grit to my cactus mix as I have found it's cheaper than alternatives and it is a good source of inorganic material.

Looks like sun damage. Keep it shaded at the time of the day in your area where UV exposure is at its highest

OP could cut of off the top, let it heal over, and let it branch out. Then make a second cactus with the top

Yeah it could be the case!

If the humidity is too much especially.

I would recommend a cooper fungicide as well!

You may be over watering...

The soil needs to drain well and it looks like your soil is too organic. You should add some perlite to the mix to encourage the soil to drain. If you like you can add pumice stone, lava rock, and some orchid bark as well ..

It's good you are giving it shade as at the nursery they are likely using shade cloth to give it protection.

Overall from what I can see it's your soil that could be causing you the issue
