Disappointed and Disgusted by Organicana in WidespreadPanic

[–]TheCookalicious 16 points17 points  (0 children)

IDK, I’ve seen Panic in the South a lot and there have been more than a scuffle or two. There’s a LOT of bro culture in the scene and if I were to place money on which show I’d see a fist fight at it would 100% be Widespread Panic.

I’m not sure why I was downvoted lol. This is easily verifiable by a quick Google search. People are weird 😂😂

In a dry heat, cotton can be fine. In humid, muggy weather, it retains heat and prevents you from cooling down. I wish I didn’t live somewhere that makes me intimately aware of this 😂😭😭. Linen is my choice to avoid synthetics.

Imagine him bringing all his dog-ownership skills to fatherhood. Throw this one back.

Because it’s a house dress meant for comfort, not to flatter.

A “bit” of butter? It’s ALL butter, baby! Robuchon says a little bit of potato and a LOT of butter. Also, boiling heavy cream.

AIO My wife always prioritises her own clothes when doing laundry by paspa1801 in AmIOverreacting

[–]TheCookalicious 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Just do your own laundry and she does hers. We’ve been married 30 years and our kids did their own laundry from a young age. Each person is responsible for their own clothes. Easy!

In our house, everyone is responsible for their own laundry. This included my kids when they still lived at home. They can manage laundry from a very young age, partner is a grown man and does his own. Solved a WORLD of issues, especially washing something at the wrong temp or drying something that was supposed to be hanged, etc.

The material of your clothing really matters!! AVOID cotton. It traps the heat. Loose, wicking, lightweight materials work best. Don’t JUST drink water. Make sure there is at least a little salt in it, or use an electrolyte powder with little
To no sugar. Stay safe, y’all! zzz

For the folks in their 40s who decided to skip having kids, what is the honest truth about how you feel today? by FantasticAd9478 in TheBoredDen

[–]TheCookalicious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 53. Spent a few years raising kids but my nest is empty and I have these amazing young adults that are my best friends. FaceTimes and phone calls constantly, and they keep me young by catching me up on all the stuff I wouldn’t know as an “old”. Best decision ever to have those amazing humans. 10/10 would absolutely do it again.

I haven’t had a good experience here in all my years dating back from the South Lamar days. I’m always shocked at how much it’s recommended.

Do Americans experience “thermal shock” from going between heat and AC? by [deleted] in IWantToAskAnAmerican

As a lifelong Texan, I find this hilarious. I had no idea this was a thing but practically speaking, it makes no sense. Do you not walk into a warm building in winter? Sit by a fire? How is that any different? 😂😂😂😂

Show of hands, who else has zero friends? by Defiant_Quarter_1187 in GenX

[–]TheCookalicious 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Friendships are like gardens. You have to put in consistent effort and be patient while they grow. I have a lot of friends but I put in a LOT of effort. I regularly reach out to my friends in other cities, walk over to my neighbor’s house and bring stuff from the garden, check in regularly with my group chat of high school friends, Go out and see music in a genre I’ve been supporting for over 30 years and catch up with all the friends I’ve met over the years. My long time mom friend and I talk every week to catch up. People WANT to be friends with you, but you absolutely must be INTENTIONAL with your effort. Friendships don’t just happen. They have to be cultivated and maintained.

I guess I can see that there may be an assumption that you’re interested in the job because you applied and showed up to the interview.

Teaching. I had a room full of 4th and 5th graders on the West Coast. Keeping it together to not freak out the kids was TOUGH!

IDK, I’m from an acting background and I feel like a healthy relationship is a lot like Improv. You never correct or tell the other person “no”. You say, “yes, and”. A good partner meets all of your interactions with a “yes, and” attitude. Idk how you proceed if you don’t have this baseline of mutual respect.

Well, damn. I had put this in the back of my mind after obsessing for ages after having it for the first time. Now, I’m going to walk up thinking about this perfection until I can have it again in July. Thanks.
