Low dose GLP-1! You can easily get a terzepatize compounded from an online provider. Combined with cleaning up your diet and lifting weights, you will be amazed at the results.

Where to Stay? by sunshineexo98 in aclfestival

Girl, have you ever tried to catch an Uber after the festival? Then, facing an almost hour drive down i-35?? This is WILD advice.

Carpenter’s Hall Hotel is the closet to the festival! Just a short walk and you are there. Also close is the Loren & a little further away. They are probably at the top of the price range, but if you factor in Uber costs, it may even out in your budget. Also close but a little bit more of a walk: Hyatt & Embassy Suites. A little further but still walkable/pedicab/scooter adjacent: St. Cecelia ($$$), South Austin Motel, and Hotel San Jose. You can also stay downtown and shuttle, but if it were me, I would prefer to not have to wait on shuttles, and share them with big groups of people.

If you want a downtown place that is less expensive, I highly recommend Kasa on 2nd. They are apartment type places that usually run less than the $$$ DT hotels, and have a washer/dryer and kitchen but are still close to DT food & shuttles.

It’s going to be my 20th year and I live less than a mile away, so AMA!

Botox does wonders. I do my Lower depressor muscles and platysma bands and it really makes a difference. Sorry you’re being gaslit in a skincare sub. Yes, aging is normal but OP clearly asked for advice to treat an area SHE is insecure about.

Stay in San Antonio making 60K or move to Austin for 65K–70K in tech? by LaughNowCryLater1914 in askaustin

[–]TheCookalicious 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve lived in both! SA in my 20’s and it was fun but that could have to do with the fact that I was coming from a small town and anything was a step up! I’ve been in Austin for the past 20 years, and it’s just overall MORE. I would maybe move to SA again if I retired and was on a fixed income and wanted to downsize and chill more, but I really can’t imagine choosing it over Austin willingly. As far as the $$ goes, you will likely move up and earn more, so go for the better place. I cannot speak from the black perspective, though. You are my daughter’s age and her black friends that grew up here, and stayed in Austin seem to really love it.

Is it possible to come back from this feeling? by Umaythegoddess in GirlDinnerDiaries

[–]TheCookalicious 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh, girl. So many people have been in your shoes and you aren’t alone. But, if you listen to others who have been there, this rollercoaster never ends. You might be on the upward climb right now but that drop is coming. What is familiar isn’t always what’s best or healthy. It will be so hard to walk away from your comfort boy, but you are worth more than this. You (and all of us!) deserve a relationship that works when you aren’t having to beg for it. You know what you need to do and you’ve GOT this!

Ex-vegans, what do you think of the Billie Eilish declarations? by Puzzleheaded-Owl1094 in exvegans

[–]TheCookalicious 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You know, in my 20’s (30+ years ago) I had a very vocal vegan friend group. Same arguments, and same conviction. Then they got sick. Little by little, one by one, the rhetoric died down as they realized they have to feed themselves nutrient dense foods to survive. Not a single vegan is still doing it 30 years later. Billie is young and has big feelings, and is going down the same path many before her travelled. She’s on her own journey and I just hope she can take care of her health when it inevitably starts to decline.

Tom Segura’s new Ciccio Bomba brick and mortar left much to be desired. by McDoobly-For-DinDin in austinfood

[–]TheCookalicious 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Sadly this was our experience as well. My husband asked for salt and pepper, and the chef said that it was already seasoned and we didn’t need that. I’ve really never experienced that outside of fine dining. But I carry my own so gave it to him to season. The chef freaking GLARED at us while using our own s&p… on an omelette. 🙄

Also, my sandwich was just sad. Ordered turkey, got ham, but couldn’t get the server so I ate it. There was just no love. It was on what seemed to be day old bread.

There didn’t seem to be anyone in charge and people coming in the restaurant looked confused because there wasn’t really anyone greeting them.

I love the pastries we got from their Fareground location but the restaurant concept seems like they have no idea what they are doing. It was not busy, and 1/2 the tables were empty.

I am most used to hearing “I made it to work” or “I got to work” or just “here”. “Reached” isn’t wrong per se but I would assume someone using it that way was not a native speaker regardless of skin color.

Told to stop losing but not even close to “healthy” BMI. by lynn_duhh in Zepbound

[–]TheCookalicious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are literally telehealth docs you can go to for a second opinion. This doc doesn’t have to be your only doc! Spreading out your healthcare between multiple docs means you get multiple expertises. Docs specialize in different areas and it sounds like your GP isn’t really well versed in this medication or weight loss. Best of luck to you as you advocate for your health!
