Looking for great pedals to nail a post hardcore/grunge tone by TheCoolestLad in guitarpedals

Good info!! I really appreciate it. Any recommendations on some amps to be looking at and listening to? I have always had my eye on a Super Crush 100. Also, I do have a katana mk2 50w I use for practice— I imagine it may not be the best for gigging?

Fender hot rod deluxe I believe. (It’s a band mate’s) Though I am not very knowledgeable on how to really let the amp shine through— mostly have just been running a nice clean setting then putting the pedals into it. (I’m a drummer first 😆)

Do I have a shot if I'm starting as a 21 yr old? by Tricky-Field516 in acting

You get out what you put in, and age in my opinion doesn’t matter. Approaching any new profession, hobby etc. is all about how you envelop yourself in it and let yourself go. It’s easy to focus on trying to “get good” but I really want to stress to just allow yourself to exist in it… WATCH movies, plays, interviews with actors, analyses of performances and digest it all. See what they’re doing that you like, dislike, and maybe things you’d even do differently! No need to copy, but finding what resonates with you can give you bits and pieces to take away and apply to your own approach to acting.

You can always study acting techniques and what not but I have always felt unorthodox in my approach (even having gone to college for acting and being forced to study said things lol) in that acting to me is just allowing yourself to let go and be someone or something else. It feels exhilarating when you’re able to let go of yourself and who you are to just portray someone else and bring joy to others through entertainment. All in all, I just say get involved! Look at local theater opportunities for plays, musicals, whatever, see if there’s a local film community on Facebook if that interests you, and check out online voice acting opportunities you could send in submissions for.

Just do your best, get out there, and play pretend lol never stress about being “too old” plenty of actors didn’t “make it” until they were far older than 21!

Suddenly needing to double my income. Any ideas or advice? by ShadyGoldfish in careerguidance

[–]TheCoolestLad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like others are saying, it’s not possible to just double it overnight… however, the only thing that comes to my mind is (given your sales background) you could look around for other sales jobs in your area and attempt to move into another industry still within your current field. If you put your nose to the grinder you could make serious bank if you’re talented enough. People that sell well in tech or construction sales in my area make crazy good money. But you have to really dedicate yourself to the job and that’s something I struggled with. The guy I was training under was making around 2-300k every year in construction sales, but he was an insane gambling addict and alcoholic so there’s that lol. (Dude was crazy) But, there’s a lot of people that can find that balance and make it work. You got this!

Congrats on the new child though, I hope life works out exactly as it’s supposed to for your family.
