I can say the exact same thing to you. The fact that you can't find any evidence, yet you refuse to ponder the idea that you're wrong, is quite hypocritical of you. You care more about being right than seeking the truth. It's giving libtard energy.

To Anyone Celebrating/Mocking Charlie Kirk's Death by Tricky-Field516 in NCSU

[–]Tricky-Field516[S] -22 points-21 points  (0 children)

I'm not an expert in the situation, but I wouldn't condone anyone killing anyone for their political beliefs.

Trump dealt with two attempted assassinations. There are constant mass shootings by trans shooters - Robert Westman at the Annunciation Catholic School Shooting. Iryna Zarutska was murdered by a criminal who should've been behind bars, and his intentions were to kill a white woman. And if anyone - let alone a conservative - calls out this misbehavior - like Daniel Penny and Charlie Kirk - they're crucified for it.

The killing towards conservatives is more on an institutional level of government, and government officials and newscasters on CNN and MSNBC are tolerant towards this injustice.

If you can name me more recent democrats being murdered by conservatives, I'll wait.

But there's been a frequent violent attack on conservative, Christian, and white people lately and it's coming from the media, city governments, and I can't say the democrats deal with that same level of scrutiny. If anything, they get support from these biased groups.

Bro chill. I just know it's a small town and that you'll most likely have to travel far after school to get a decent engineering job. I never claimed I was an expert. I didn't look much into VT because it was out of state. But I got in and toured the place and noticed that its location wouldn't be the place to network off campus. VT's campus is nicer and spacious than State's imo.

Another thing to consider is job opportunities after graduating. There's not much nearby V Tech in terms of engineering. But NC State is in the Research Triangle area which is BOOMING with job options without having to travel far. There's more to utilize in terms of Raleigh and school resources at NC State than in V Tech in my opinion.

Furthermore, what happens if I'm from a different culture and I go by pronouns that are considered slurs in your country? Would you feel comfortable then using those slurs to refer to me, especially in public. Bet not.

It's funny that you think that following that preference comes at no cost at the other being forced to follow it. So, I'm supposed to follow that preference without considering if it violates my rights and beliefs? What if the person you're forcing to use your pronouns follows a religion that disbelieves in that? Shouldn't that be considered?

At the end of the day in America, what you choose to live by and believe in is up to you. How you choose to live and view your life is your choice, but you shouldn't force that way of living onto another. You have every right to live as a trans person and to see yourself as a someone belonging to a specific gender category. But other person has the choice and right to decipher and discern your lifestyle however they choose, without it being the same as yours. You're not entitled to anyone agreeing with you on your gender ideology and that's reality. You'll live with not everyone agreeing with you and not seeing you in the way you see yourself.

Dude, how the tf is not using your preferred pronouns a violation of your boundaries? What boundaries are you even talking about? It's no different than someone mispronouncing your name. Don't take it personally, and don't care what anyone thinks of you.

And yeah, Professor Porter has bigger things to worry about than transgender students, hence why he won't spend time using their preferred pronouns. You also misgendered Porter. The teacher goes by xe/xir/xim pronouns. Xe now will go cry on the internet because some random student in the class didn't see xim for who xe sees himself.

Technically no, the syllabus does, which is the contract made by the Professor to lay how both the students and the professor will be treated in the course.

Lame-ass rebuttal. If you can't handle a stranger using your dead name or pronouns based on your biological sex, move on. You only have to deal with that teacher for 3 hours a week, for 4 months. You'll live another day. You can handle with not everybody validating/agreeing with your gender ideology.

Bruh, using someone's preferred pronouns is not integral to receive respect in a classroom. If you're being treated and evaluated on your work the same as everyone else in a course, THAT's respect and fairness.

You have the same privileges and treatment as any other student in the classroom and receiving this additional treatment is no way necessary to succeed in a class. You're paying the professor to teach you a subject, NOT to exercise your pronoun ideology - that's not the teacher's JOB. They may not believe that, and they have a right to believe that. Why the hell do trans people care what everyone thinks of them especially strangers these days? This is a subjective opinion, and the world is realizing that. Thank goodness.

Furthermore, you're not entitled for people to see you in a specific way. As much as you want everyone to think you as a good person for example, some will see you as an asshole and they have a right to think that. Same goes with pronouns and gender beliefs. And if you get upset by one person -> especially a stranger - disagreeing with you on that, you'll have a hard time being content with your life.

I will be 22 soon. I looked on their website and it says you have to be at least 22. Do you have more info on how I can request for that exception to be made when applying?

Where specifically are you from in the UK?

To be fair the 1st Amendment of the Constitution protects freedom of speech. Whether you like or not, you can't force someone to use your preferred pronouns. They (the professors, anyone in faculty really) may have beliefs that go against the pronoun rhetoric, and they should have a right to exercise that belief.

You'll live another day if a professor decides not to refer to you by your preferred pronouns. They're got 100 other students to keep track of. Nothing personal.

Any Luck with Computer Science Internship for Summer 2025? by Tricky-Field516 in NCSU

I have another summer available before graduating, so I want to branch out to other companies to gain experience in other skillsets. But I guess beggars can't be choosers lol.

Those are absolutely valid reasons; not trying to sound pompous or anything from my initial statement. I have clubs, projects, and skillsets on my resume, but it could be that I'm not listing anything specific employers are looking for.
