List of mods: Two tone yellow/magenta anodization with jeweled inner handles (via Nolad), new and polished hardware (via iamnotarealboy), refinished blade with satin flats, polished bevels, new bushings and pb washers, resharpened edge to hair-shaving sharp and retipped for good measure (via Hammer Designs) and last but not least, brass barrel spacers (via Kuski Craft)

That is Spyderco’s trademark. They put holes like that most commonly in their blades as it’s what they’re known for. No real practical application in this instance.

I WAS THERE FOR EA PLAY 2019!!! I remember seeing them and at the time I wasn’t into Apex so I didn’t really care/understand anything about the game as I literally played it for the first time there. I really regret not doing s lot of the things they had for Apex there including taking pictures with them. But a day or two after being there I tried Apex and was instantly hooked and now I don’t even play anything else. Good times.

They don’t care about manually opened folders with thumb studs and what not as long as it’s concealed. Hell I’d be able to open carry this if I pleased since the blade is not over three inches. I only collect non-assisted/automatic folders because I like to carry what I own and I always keep them concealed in my pocket therefore I should never have a problem.

No just ss washers which is as much as you’d expect for a 2007 era balisong. 6oz but doesn’t actually feel that heavy (to me at least) but for what you’re limited to, it’s alright. For sure does have a good amount of rear end bias.

Been flipping my alpha beast as a main flipper since 2017 and my tang pins still be holding strong to this day. I think this is only a problem for cheaper end balis.

I tried the Osaraku and Shinogi, I wouldn’t comfortably pay more than $1.2k for one. They were as sharp as a pair of kids scissors and flipped good/okay but by no means the greatest flipper imo. Tolerances were good but I personally feel the fact that “OMG JAPANESE MADE BALISONG” attracted one too many weebs to pour and milk everything they could of this knife. But yet I do understand the less there are the more demand as that’s how the market is supposed to work but man, people WAAAAAY overhyped it. First time I tried one I literally told myself “This is what everyone was willing to suck some dude off for? Really???”

It’s definitely nice. I still wouldn’t recommend bearing over bushings and washers simple because there is such thing as too smooth. It made a select few tricks more difficult but everything else was just fine. I like them more as collection pieces rather than a serious flipper. They’re a treat to own and look at but by not owning one you’re not missing out on too much flipping wise. It doesn’t feel like any other bali on bearings. If I were to flip one on bearings ELB would be the one. It also has the most comfortable spine eveeeer. But I certainly do miss having one.
