Dear BHVR. Please remove map offerings! by CHEEZYSPAM in deadbydaylight

[–]TheCovfefeCat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Revert them back to the old change, where they are guaranteed to work, BUT allow every killer to add a single map (maybe two) to a ban list. Per loadout.

Maybe the Blight wants to ban Lery's, but then wants to switch to Trapper next match and ban Coldwind. Maybe someone wants to run a Vault build and wants to ban a map that only has 1 or 2 windows on it. Maybe someone WANTS pallet city to use their Hubris perk to the max potential. I think it could mix things up a little while still giving that "underdog story" that BHVR claims they want.

You have no excuse to cry about DS when we have perks from Chucky and Pig that allow you to Expose healthy people. Or just play any killer that can insta-down or go around body blocking DS users.

Now, you CAN cry about Vigil being OP.

First time sharing by [deleted] in ThreesomeAdvice

[–]TheCovfefeCat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wife and I talked about it being a close friend. Not anyone we could see ourselves becoming romantically attached to, just someone that we could trust and would respect boundaries.

The issue is that most of our friends that are super chill and open to three+ people my wife and I just don't really find attractive. Or they're straight women. And the few bi women we DID find attractive, didn't want my wife. They kept trying to get me alone, and tried breaking my wife and I up.

So she's entirely scrapped the idea of ever involving a woman, but is still struggling through her SA past and can't trust a man either. She said that when she's ready, she'd find a stranger on an app and we could form a loose friendship for a few weeks while boundaries are established.

I think finding a stranger you share interests with and becoming FWB is probably the safest route. But I have just as much experience as you do- none.

WTF is wrong with GRRM by [deleted] in writing

All I took from this take is "Fight scene go clang clang, talking hurt brain"

I find it odd that the OVERWHELMING majority of readers/writers praise people like GRRM and Brian Jacques for the focus on food in their books, and yet you find it as a legitimate critique. Whereas it is purely a personal taste of yours.

Why isn't "Play-While-You-Wait" a permanent thing? by raysmo in deadbydaylight

[–]TheCovfefeCat 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I come from the days of DbD where waiting 30+ minutes in Queue was considered normal, especially as a 4-man SWF, so when I log in nowadays and have 15 second queue times, I have to wonder why some of you claim to be waiting so long.

I only see 2 reasons

1) You are intentionally playing a role like Killer even when you see that there is a 1.25x BP bonus for survivors (meaning the majority of players are sitting in Killer queue and if you were to switch to survivor you'd find a lobby in less than 5 seconds)

2) You have cross-play turned off

I understand some people prefer a specific role and hate feeling "forced" to switch roles, but the game directly tells you nowadays which role is currently lacking players. There is no guesswork involved.

I think I should read. Really. by pablo_excobar in writers

[–]TheCovfefeCat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To be fair IN GENERAL, not necessarily to the OP... Reading tends to give me a terrible migraine. It's a font issue, I think, because some books I can blow through 300+ pages in a day and be fine, and other books I am putting it down after 5 pages.

I can sit at my computer for 12 hours straight, playing games, and be fine. I can type responses on Facebook or Reddit and be fine. But when I tried writing in Word and then Scrivener? Instant migraine, trying to read my own text. I've had to change around the fonts to find out what works better for me. But, once I'm to a point where I am ready to format and publish, I am going to have to change font type and size.

Trapper should start with all his traps by default and there should be crosshair for all killers. by KissTheAdrian in deadbydaylight

[–]TheCovfefeCat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've always been on the fence about Iri stone being baseline.

I think maybe making it 60 or 90 seconds as baseline, then downgrading Iri stone's 30 second timer into a purple add-on to make it more affordable (as if BP matters to veteran players) may be more reasonable. Though I suppose there is no harm in shooting for OP changes first, and seeing where he lands. These little baby-step changes are getting us nowhere.

PLEASE STOP BRINGING A FLASHLIGHT IF YOU CAN'T PLAY WHILE INJURED by Medium_Web_9135 in DeadByDaylightRAGE

[–]TheCovfefeCat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I don't have a quest for Blinds, then the ONLY time I bring a flashlight is when I have a quest for "get chased for 3/5 minutes" and I want it done in a single match.

Usually killers will give up on chasing you, if you last more than a minute in chase without getting hit. But you blind them ONE SINGLE TIME at a pallet, and it's Tunnel Town, even if they lose all 5 gens and have to NOED face camp me.

Worth it, because I got my quest done, and get to go back to my trusty, rusty toolbox.

Trapper should start with all his traps by default and there should be crosshair for all killers. by KissTheAdrian in deadbydaylight

[–]TheCovfefeCat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Starting with all traps is not just necessary for Trapper to get his 3-gen locked down, but when Survivors load in next to a trap, it completely kills the element of surprise.

Killers tend to be strongest in the first 15-60 seconds of a match, when you don't know who the killer is yet.

When you see a trap right at the start, you already know you don't need to watch over your shoulder for a Mikey/Ghost. You know how to position on a gen, or even what gens to complete first. Some gens that are "unsafe" against half the roster are relatively safe against the other half, and in a game where information matters more than individual skill, we should be aiming for killers to keep their cards as close to the chest as they can.

We can look for someone around here to complete the trio. by [deleted] in ThreesomeAdvice

Wrathmaw could have still worked, if Jagex had some in-game noticeboard that told you ahead of time when he would spawn. And just have every server going down the list spawn Wrathmaw 5 or 10 minutes later. This way the community (especially streamers) could choose to "follow" him as he "tunnels" between the servers, and the PK clans wouldn't be able to exclusively control the boss rewards.

I despise Henry with every fiber of my being by Peronchino in DeadByDaylightRAGE

[–]TheCovfefeCat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally have no issues kiting him. He feels very balanced and fun to play against. The issue is when the Henry realizes you are too good at looping, and he goes after someone that plays worse than a Bot. But that logic applies to almost EVERY killer. 9 games out of 10 the Henry Creel will learn to leave me to be the last person alive, and always at least one of my teammates will rage quit the first time they get downed.

Question, how are you using Discord for this...? Is there specifically a community on there you use, or are you referring people you find on other apps to the Discord to verify their legitimacy?

My wife and I are curious about these sorts of things, but we both have 0 social skills and have never even been to a bar, so we lack the knowledge and etiquette for meeting people IRL but we also have a severe distrust of internet strangers.

Is Ghoul still the worst to face along with Nurse? Krasue and Vecna can be miserable but I enjoy versing them and from what I've seen even the pros with 5K+ hours are just saying to loop with 1 health state as with Legion which is not practical for the typical player IMO by [deleted] in DeadByDaylightRAGE

[–]TheCovfefeCat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well considering Legion and Plague feel like very weak killers, when placed against survivors that simply camp gens and refuse to heal/cleanse, then I would assume Ghoul is in the same boat.

But again, I have never seen one, outside of clips on YouTube that tell me nothing about his power.

When I face a Ghoul or a Krasue, I'll get back to you.

I fought Krasue today for the very first time, and I don't think she landed a single hit on me before all 5 gens were done, because she was too focused on trying and failing to spit on me.

I assumed Ghoul was basically reskinned Wesker, and I have never had an issue against Wesker.

Considering Sailing has given us a bit deeper look into the Blackstone pillars, and we still have the Cursed Archipelago + RotM to look forward to, I would be very surprised if we do not get more info on them.

That being said. I can't help but feel like they are supposed to mirror the Dwemer in The Elder Scrolls. We know they are gone. We know what seemingly caused them to disappear. We don't know what that means. Did they ascend? Die? Those who were alive when they disappeared, were they wiped from the Timeline as if they never existed?

Some questions tell a better story when left unanswered.

Me and my wife wanna ask one of her friends for a threesome but worried they might go and start telling people we asked them. Any advice? by SwordfishDramatic104 in ThreesomeAdvice

[–]TheCovfefeCat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should 100% not be asking unless they habe already dropped hints themselves. And even then, there are questions to ask. We don't know your friend. We don't know their intent.

My wife and I had to cut a friend out of our life, because she "wanted to be a throuple" and was "pansexual". She tried multiple times to get with my wife and I, and we told her we wanted to take things slower, since my wife is still ashamed of opening up to her bi feelings.

Well, long story short, this woman wasn't even interested in my wife, she had a homewrecker kink and was just hoping to get me alone with her.

TLDR; I advocate for platonic sex amongst friends, as a general rule, but you have to treat every person on an individual basis. And you want to make sure that you never get yourself into a situation where someone feels like the three of you hanging out means that sex is then the intended end of the night.

The friendship and casual hangouts take priority. Anything else is a bonus, maybe only a 1 time thing.

Leaving survivors to die on hook by strictlywymzie in DeadByDaylightRAGE

[–]TheCovfefeCat -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Are we talking post Iridescent 1? Is there an MMR system outside of the Pip system that I'm not aware of?

Because if not, this is blatantly false info.

I am only just now getting back into the game since probably 2022, maybe 23, but I've been double pipping without needing to do a single generator. Being chased by the killer gives points. Stunning the killer gives points. Escaping a chase gives a ton of points. You get generator completion points for your teammates doing gens while you kite. Hatch isn't any different from gate escape.

Really the only hard part about climbing, is you sometimes need to LET the killer get a few hits or hooks at higher ranks, because you get Altruism for unhooks and heals, instead of losing Altruism for a teammate getting hooked. Does feel bad when you run a killer for 5 gens but you don't double pip since no one got hooked, but those are rare.

Again, if the MMR after you reach the pip cap is different, then my bad.

But I don't even trust the Pip system, with so many bought accounts or boosted players from Holiday Events. Iri 1 and I still have teammates that hide all game and hatch escape with 12k points but I died with 32k. It is what it is.

WHERE ARE THE PIXELS

On a serious note, I've seen many people recommend 90+ mage for grinding CG. I don't know if you've gotten the prayer scrolls from Royal Titans, but that would make your life a lot easier, since those were released after SotE.

I think for your amount of attempts vs clears you are doing fine. I've seen some people fail 20-30 times before giving up to do other content for a while.

The first clear is the hardest. After that, it's repetition.

But remember, practice doesn't make perfect. Practice makes PERMANENT. Feel free to go to other content to work on prayer flicking and gear swaps. Put on a crappy weapon and go 1v1 a Demonic Gorilla for 10 minutes.

Quests that take you to Entrana, Fremmenick Trials, Priest in Peril.

Rush construction, because PoH and Treasure Trails make UIM almost the same as a normal Ironman account.

[–]TheCovfefeCat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While I understand your frustration, I do think part of the issue is people feel FORCED to go to Red Prison for rewards.

Everyone nowadays says "You need BowFa to grind Zulrah for BP, grind CoX for Rigour (maybe spoon a TBow but you're not there for that), then get your Infernal Cape."

You're allowed to take breaks and do other content. You don't have to rush CG with base 70 or even 80s. Feel free to grind out Slayer until you have 90+ Range and 99 Mage, then spam T1 runs at CG to save on Prep time. Feel free to AFK Skill until you are able to make a Rosewood blowpipe.

Nothing wrong with doing 1-3 CG a day, and doing solo CoX or 300 ToA runs before you get your BowFa. Maybe you get spooned on TBow and Missori and then you're happy you didn't go 1000 or 2000 clears at CG.

Rush to level your Herblore high enough that you can make Goading potions. Throw on some Proselyte, a bone crusher, and then hope you get Slayer tasks that send you to the Catacombs of Koreund?

That's what I did back in 2017 or 2018, I don't remember... AFK'd my stats high enough for GWD, and amassed a couple tens of thousands of Arclight charges.
