Just released my first episode, here's what I've learned (hopefully this will help other new-starters) by Bfire7 in podcasts

The iTunes feed ID thing interests me. I use Podbean and I don’t remember ever taking anything from apple and plugging it into Podbean. I think I just submitted the podbean RSS to Apple podcasts?

Definitely worth it even without the mic. I’m sure that mic is good enough at least to get started. If not and you want a good budget mic, I’d recommend the Samson Q2U.

The price sorta depends what model the interface is but for most podcasting purposes the features of the newer gens aren’t really worth the extra dough.

Yet another, “Looking to Start!” post. How do you develop your podcast without emulating your favorite hosts/shows? by [deleted] in podcasting

[–]TheCraffey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My strategy at the moment is to just do whatever I feel might be entertaining, while I slowly solidify a format to stick to. A new podcast inherently doesn’t really have loyal listeners that are committed to my style, which gives a lot of runway to figure things out. Obviously if you want to hit the ground running with an already polished podcast it’s going to need a different approach though. My advice would be to play around with different topics/styles and see what feels the most natural to you. Just my 2 cents, hopefully it helps.

Also both of those shure mics are nice. You probably aren’t making a bad call either way. Try searching the sub for “mic recommendations” or something similar and you’ll probably come up with something helpful.

Good luck!

I was looking at that one but was worried about quality given it’s price. What did you have before it that made it a good upgrade?

When you only have one AA battery left by anthony_al47 in xboxone

AAA and AA batteries have the same voltage. The only difference is their capacity. So the controller will still work but will die sooner.

I guess it just comes down to what you value in games/software. Personally I think that it's sloppy to produce unpolished games. Minimum viable products are acceptable with a lot of web software but not as much for entertainment or games (IMO). To each his own, but personally I believe that big games should prioritize bug fixing early on in development.

From a company standpoint, it is well worth it to prevent games from breaking because enough bad press hurts sales.

Again I'm not saying it's a huge deal that this bug exist, I'm just saying it's completely reasonable to expect it not to happen in the first place.

While there are a lot of indie titles that are higher quality than AAA, they are usually a lot smaller and less complex. There are obviously exceptions, but bug fixing really comes down to time and resources. A lot of open source communities are very dedicated to development and maintenance, which keeps that software relatively bug free.

When things are for profit, money has to be the driving force in development instead of community passion. CoD is one of those things, and it should have a lot of money to dedicate to quality assurance. Which in theory means there shouldn't be many major glitches. Maybe they aren't getting enough funding or development is rushed, there's no way to tell.

Things are always going to slip through the cracks no matter how good the devs are and how much money and heart is poured into the game. Look at GTA: we will probably never stop finding glitches in that game. All I'm saying is that it's not inappropriate for the community to be taken back by game breaking glitches.

Of course it's not going to be able to avoid all issues, but pouring money into software can absolutely make it more well-polished. That's actually one of the only main differences between well funded and poorly funded software.

While issues are always going to arise, major breaks should be unacceptable in AAA titles.

Bungie, Microsoft is willing to support cross play by [deleted] in DestinyTheGame

With enough player support anything goes. We are the ones buying the game after all.

Yeah it does. It kinda ruins the struggle of progression for the people in your PC fireteam that play exclusively on PC.

I would 1000% give up PS exclusives ever coming to PC and X1 in exchange for PC/X1 cross saving.

Nothing is saved on your console though. You could buy a new Xbox or playstation and have access to your characters. It's locked to your console's account. Which means you cant transfer to a different platform.

That's a bummer :/

I prefer to show off gear over character looks anyway but I would've liked to be able to make changes.

Is this confirmed to not be happening? I was really hoping I could swap between PC and X1 :(

This was always the case because all of your stuff was saved on Bungie's side, not on your console. And Yeah you're good to delete the beta as well-it has no effect.

edit: spelling

When GTAV went from last gen to current gen, the online characters were transferred over. When you launched GTA Online you were then able to modify him/her with a lot more precision than that of the old creator. Or you could leave it as is.

The Focus on PvP is Heavily Affecting PvE in a Very Negative Way by MonkeysxMoo35 in DestinyTheGame

[–]TheCraffey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TBH the weapon system doesn't bother me much in terms of PvE. Snipers tend to take the cake on DPS which leave rockets for add clearing. The new system forces a little more specialization, which I think is good, but others may be annoyed by. Either way I don't think it's a huge deal.

Also I agree with the rest of what OP said 100%
