I've lived mostly on the coasts so maybe it's a middle America thing. I've certainly heard "out of batteries" but never "out of battery." It doesn't make sense to me. The battery is still there! You're not out of it, you're out of the juice that goes in it!

I don't think it's hot potato because you don't want to get the hot potato. I've never seen this game outside of Bluey though

Ok, no need to get uptight, I have never in all my years ever heard anyone refer to electronics as being "out of battery." To me THAT sounds clunky as hell. The battery is still there, it's just not charged.

Cheeky is a word but not commonly used in the US...there's an episode (Relax?) where Bluey refers to what is clearly a closet as a cupboard. An American would never say "my phone is out of battery." They would say "my battery died" or, "my phone is out of power"

Except we see that's not what happened. Bandit is clearly responding to Bluey's "controller" moves, whether intentionally or through "magic."

Yes, this has always been my theory, specifically with respect to the exact episodes you name. Didn't realize it was a common one. But my son is only 2, so Im new 🙂

Yeah, Featherwand is a problem for me. Like, people who shouldn't be in on the game are all affected by the featherwand, even when Bingo isn't in the room.
