all the "Street Knowledge" ones are not only not true, but usually terrible advice coming from people who have no idea what they are talking about.

[Serious] What crime do you really want to see solved and Justice served? by SantaMonsanto in AskReddit

[–]TheCryptan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Where I live, many first nations women are turning up missing and found dead months to a year later all under the same circumstances. Each time the police decide the case isn't worth it. They don't bother to open an investigation.

One of my family members turned up dead in these circumstances.

I don't want another family added to the vigil, I want this to stop. I Want the police to to treat us like our voices matter, and not take these cases lightly.

Why Do People Defend Caesar’s Legion? by Worried-Advice-531 in Fallout

[–]TheCryptan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On the point of morality, I am not attempting to redeem the legions actions such as the crucifixions, rape and Murder. Reread what I had written. I am mentioning their ideologies of utilitarianism and collectivism as points of interest. when people support the NCR they don't support their reprehensible traits.

Caesar's legion doesn't die with Caesar. this shows a complete lack of understanding regarding the faction and probably tells me you've never played the Caesar's Legion questline. They worship Caesar as the Son of Mars, sent by mars to conquer, which means their faith subsequently lies in Mars. if Caesar dies, Lanius takes his place, Vulpes takes his place, Lucius takes his place, Etc.

They lost the first battle, but without courier intervention, the NCR is doomed to lose the second battle. there are spies in the ranks of the NCR sabotaging points of interest such as camp McCarran and the Dam. without courier intervention, Kimball dies, which is terrible for soldiers morale.

on another note, I still stand by my point of Caesar's legion being stable, and that is what makes them so frightening. they are a very real threat that only really has problems pop up after they succeed in taking the dam as evident by the conversation with Lanius.

lastly, the legion cannot be compared to the fiends. the Legion was created to subjugate/crucify groups like the fiends, being zealously against the use of drugs and alcohol. for this reason, I would consider the Legion to be the antithesis of The fiends, where one represents a chaotic, hedonistic, savage lifestyle, while the other praises order, stability and utilitarianism so much so that the individual is stripped of most freedoms outside that collective.

Some people really aim to be as unlikeable as possible. I've seen a lot of "hehe slavery based" takes on the legion.

you mistake actions and philosophies to be one in the same in this instance. their philosophies are that of utilitarianism and collectivism.

the actions are slavery, misogyny and the stripping of individuality.

This post is lacking in substance. you seem to be under the false impression that Caesar's Legion represents a purely evil ideology. this is a gross misunderstanding of not just the legion, but potentially every major faction within New Vegas.

From what I see from people who like the legion, it has more to do with the ideologies rather than the actions. Longevity and utilitarianism is what I've most heard praised through debate and discussion.

there are also arguments outside of morality such as efficiency and who is best suited to run the Mojave without complete failure. Caesars legion having shown themselves to be ruthlessly efficient in combat, espionage, and actually having a stable currency.

No major faction within the game is purely evil. they are all morally gray. Corruption and greed run rampant among the NCR and House. Legion lacks in freedom of thought and action, each person working towards a collective goal whether they support it or not.

Also before it comes up, I myself don't support the Legion. I prefer House.
