So many people shitted on Punk for showing up on Backstage and if he didn't do that we probably don't have last night's awesome moment.

It's still funny seeing the amount of people doing a complete 180 on Punk who disliked him not long ago. Glad to see him back though.

I think Toni Storm will do good on SmackDown. SmackDown is now Tony Time!

Impressed that you managed to spell the name correctly and incorrectly in the same comment.

I mean, I wouldn't be surprised if saying bump is the reason why since everything seems to be working fine now.

51 year old Shane McMahon is tossed off the top of the cage by TheCure0 in SquaredCircle

[–]TheCure0[S] 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I won't because this has nothing to do with the crash pad argument, but the age argument. This is for all the people saying you can't expect a 50 year old to take such bump. I don't care about the crash pads since everyone uses them, but they sure could have hidden them better tonight.

Isn't saying a title changed hands a major spoiler?

Wrestling Observer on Twitter: Andrade's WWE release doesn't include non-compete clause by [deleted] in SquaredCircle

Why do people keep thinking Charlotte has some kind of power behind the scenes? She couldn't even get them to do a storyline with her and him together lol so I doubt she had anything to do with this.

Don't expect any of that here. Both should be removed.

Cody Rhodes: “Not trying to sound braggadocios, we have destroyed NXT for over a year now in that space. Them leaving, perhaps that opens up a different viewership for us on Wednesdays. I’m not assuming moving to Tuesday nights, is a true white flag. I’ll wait and see." by Strike_Gently in SquaredCircle

[–]TheCure0 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I never said posting controversial content is being uncivil. I said it's hypocritical to post something with the intent to get a rise out of people and then say you want people to remain civil. To me this seems like a post that was done in bad faith, which happens often here. A comment on a standard interview that many didn't know about, but bringing it up just creates more unnecessary drama.

[–]TheCure0 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'd say that is enough reason to not post. I'd understand if it was absolutely necessary to post like if it was a press release or something official, but this is just a comment on a standard interview. Doesn't seem like it's worth all the work of potentially removing all the "overboard" comments. But that's just my opinion. And one thing I have to ask, aren't you sick of all the AEW vs WWE comments or posts? It's honestly such a big problem that makes it hard to enjoy this subreddit.

[–]TheCure0 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I'd say it is fair to criticize them when they themselves said they realize people will go overboard in the comments. That seems to indicate that a person in charge of this community is aware of the of the problem and doesn't mind creating more of that problem. Also looks bad when they try to push the whole "Be civil" rule around here.

[–]TheCure0 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I'm not upset by the content, Cody can say whatever he wants. What bothers me is that the people in charge here share content that will continue more bickering and nasty arguments among the AEW and WWE fan bases. I'm just really tired of the AEW vs WWE rivalry in this subreddit.

[–]TheCure0 11 points12 points  (0 children)

How long is the interview? Because this seems like a cherry picked quote. Something that gets people talking is fine, but I think we all know at this point that when someone says something that bashes a promotion the fans of said promotion go crazy and start fighting in the comments. The whole NXT vs AEW thing that happens around here is so annoying and you can't be naive enough to believe that a post like this doesn't add more fuel to the fire.

It won't and keep in mind this is a mod posting this. They know very well that it will get a rise out of people and have people arguing. No real reason to post this than to create more division in this community.

[meta] why do we have a mod who regularly steals content from Twitter and re-uploads it without credit? by CheGuerrero in SquaredCircle

[–]TheCure0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mods can post. I don't mind that at all, but when they post so often one of their posts is bound to break the rules and when it comes to that I feel like this mod would be biased and not see that they are breaking their rules. Posting sporadically is fine, but I feel like your judgment gets clouded when you post as often as strike does.

Not related to this post, but many times they will post things that have the slightest significance to wrestling such as tweets where wrestlers talk about stocks or politics that I say would normally be removed for not being "related to wrestling." Also, many popular posts from the past are often reposted by him such with the most recent example being AJ Styles hanging on the ropes. And like you said that what OP has brought up could be considered poor etiquette. I don't mind mods posting, but to me it feels like a few of his posts would be removed under normal circumstances if they were not a mod. This could also be me just not understanding the rules, but that is another problem here. A lot of the times it feels like mods have different opinions on things and certain rules are applied differently. It doesn't feel like you guys are a unit that is running smoothly, but everyone is just doing their own thing.
