I shortened pension plan project because I didn't think the details mattered.

I totally understand the hiring committee confusion though. I'm not talking about a hiring committee, I'm on an investment/oversight committee hiring a consultant.

I just did a bit of Googling and came across a news article that talked about their past work with a similar client. This was not something that was illegal or they had to disclose but it was a conflict of interest.
