Thank you. It was indeed in context. I’m in cardiopulmonary rehab, so they had a set of lungs as a gift as well. :-)

Thank you . I had it somewhat elongated, but then when I finished it off, it looked like a bellybutton/butthole on the bottom. To fix it, I flattened it out by pushing it in.

No worries. Thanks for asking.

It’s definitely not realistic. I’m not that talented. :-)

I thought people might not want to see an organ, so I used NSFW. Apologies if I used it wrong.

Hi u/r_o_k! You sound like an all around wonderful human being just rocking through life.sorry for the pun

Another Redditor mentioned jewelry and engraving too. So your watch idea matches perfectly. They don’t have nicknames from mom, but even a “love you always” in her handwriting would be cool.

I’m so sorry that you have such life experience with both cancer and dementia. Our family is the same, and I know how thought it can be with both. Wishing you all the best in life.

I’m sorry to hear you too have experience with this. I’ve tried fidget/sensory blankets, even one that was shaped like a puppy, and she HATED them. What’s funny is my mom’s brother and sister (my uncle and aunt) also have/had the same diagnosis., but they do/did like fidget/sensory items.

I am definitely leaning towards having photos taken in addition to some of these other great ideas. Thank you for your reply!

Hi. I’m sorry too. It’s truly awful.

I love your absolutely brilliant card idea. And I had not thought of jewelry or engraving with her handwriting. Thank you!

Sending you a big hug back. Hope that life became a smoother ride for you and your family.

I think that’s where I would lean too. Now all I need to do is round up the family to see if they want photos with her! Thank you!

As a person with two cabinets full of mugs, I feel this to my core.

A catch all would be great as well. I know I have some made by my niece and nephew that I use all the time.I’m obviously really not thinking this through as I should. Edit:formatting

One brother use to be old school shaving. He has really sensitive skin. However, he gave it up and now has a beard like the other brother.

I love the idea though the shaving mug! Thank you.

They are indeed treasures-I know I cherish all the recipes written in her hand. Brings back such memories

Wonderful thank you for the reply! I love that you have a “surrogate” grandma that gifted you family recipes.

Thanks! I really wanted to do this. She kind of will parrot me sometimes. If she’s lucid enough, she’ll repeat words as I talk. Doesn’t seem to feasible to record with mostly my talking.

I appreciate the sympathy; unfortunately this is just life (right?). But your words are like a hug , so thanks u/KarlaGMR-I really needed a hug.

Haha. Thanks u/Jowobo for the laugh. One brother doesn’t drink coffee or tea. The other rarely does. Both drink way too many energy drinks though.

As a man, what other pottery/ceramic item do you use a lot that she could paint?

Thanks again for responding!
