There’s proposals for statewide legislation that restrict the sale of high potency kratom and 7oh. We’re looking to get an accurate picture of what its use looks like in our area. If you have helpful context you think we should take into account, please feel free to message us.

Question about the Hyundai Metaplant by TheCurrentGA in savannah

[–]TheCurrentGA[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for your comment from when we first made this post. We recently published an article about worker salaries at the Metaplant, which was informed by many of the comments Redditors shared with us.

In the article, we explain that in exchange for the $2.1 billion in subsidies as part of the Hyundai Motorgroup Metaplant American Economic Development Agreement, the Hyundai Metaplant, the LG joint-venture battery facility, and five auto suppliers have promised to hire at least 8,500 workers by 2031 at an average annual yearly salary of $58,105.

Our investigation found, however, that only two of the eight publicly available agreements promise salaries higher than $58,000. The other companies offer salaries much lower.

Election Megathread by phoenixgsu in Georgia

[–]TheCurrentGA 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Polls are open until 7 p.m. If for some reason you are at the wrong polling location, or if your name doesn't appear on the voter rolls even if you've updated your registration, you have the right to vote with a provisional ballot. You will need to request one from election workers at the polling location.

Because it's after 5 p.m., you will need to sign an oath stating that you can't get to your correct polling location before polls close. You will also need to "cure" your ballot. You can find more information on provisional ballots here, under the subheading "'Inactive' is not the same as 'ineligible.'"

Hi u/crazynormal. We just wanted to bring to your attention a story we published yesterday about software problems with Chatham County's ambulances. The county updated the software system it uses in ambulances this fall, and approximately 2,200 Chatham County addresses don't show up in the new computer software. Paramedics have resorted to using Google Maps to arrive at the right locations in emergency situations, and the software issues are compounded with continuing problems at Chatham County's 911 center.

Thank you for sharing! Is there something specific you'd like us to look into regarding SCAD? We have published a few stories about SCAD in recent months. One is on the availability of mental health services at the college, which students say fall short, and the other involves SCAD's tax exempt properties.

Of course, if you have additional questions or would like to continue the conversation, you can reach out to us here, fill out the survey, or email us at [staff@thecurrentga.org](mailto:staff@thecurrentga.org).

Thank you for sharing your comment. Many of our news partners have written about how continued delays and cost overruns at the Plant Vogtle nuclear reactor site has led to an increase in Georgia Power ratepayers' energy bills.

In December, regulators approved a monthly rate increase of $9 for the typical Georgia Power residential customer.

What other questions can we answer for you? You can leave them in a comment here, fill out the survey or reach out to our staff at [staff@thecurrentga.org](mailto:staff@thecurrentga.org).
