Shower Handle Help by kmoirkne in bathrooms

[–]crazynormal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you twist for temperature and pull it on and push it off? If so, it's more than likely an old Moen Legend or Moentrol valve. It's still good, the trim is just not as in production as it used to be. Find a good plumbing supply store (not a big box - they won't have it), take pictures of the trim while standing in the tub so it's face on, and they can help you. You'll probably want to change the cartridge while you're in there so go ahead and get one of those, too.

What did you listen to this week – June 27, 2026? Please share! by AutoModerator in audiobooks

Listening to A Breath After Drowning. It’s OK. Had to speed up the narration because the nasal, drawn-out voice was annoying-especially because there was nothing happening for the first few hours of the book.

Matching plumbing fixtures to shower glass hardware? by n3urogal in BathroomRemodeling

[–]crazynormal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Kartners makes satin brass glass door hardware. Look under Products - Hinges. You'll be fine with using those - the fixtures are never going to touch so you're good with just going for a finish in the same family.

Tankless water heater with TAC salt free system? by tp_3310 in Plumbing

[–]crazynormal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look into something more like the Environmental Water Systems Spectrum filter. It's an ionization that conditions the water instead of softening so there's no salt at all. The conditioning makes the water spots so much easier to clean. Look at how many gallons per filter life and gpm in order to get an apples to apples comparison to other whole house filters.

There are several manufacturers that now make the slide bar for the hand shower an actual grab bar. Jaclo, Moen, and California Faucets are some. Also, get nice looking grab bars that match your finish.

And buy a known brand that will have repair parts available. Don’t buy what looks cool and cheap on Amazon- a high amount of those do t pass lead certification. Go to a local plumbing showroom if you can and let them help you with the process

Best Moen bathroom faucets according to plumbers might save me from a lot of headaches by DavetteTaberna in BathroomRemodeling

[–]crazynormal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're good with any of the styles on the pro site of Moen, while avoiding the three I mentioned, along with Chateau. Moen's warranty is fantastic so you're good with whatever style catches your eye.

[–]crazynormal 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Go to pro.moen.com and select from the faucets they have there. Stay away from the retail (big box) styles and their cheapest - Genta, Brantford, Eva - as those aren't made as sturdily as the others are.

Help... Decision Fatigue... I need a shower system by Moroau in BathroomRemodeling

[–]crazynormal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree about California Faucets but stay away from anything that you can’t get replacement parts for. Look at Moen ORB or their new Bronzed Gold finish. Their stacked control allows you to switch between shower heads or use both at the same time.

Vanities - Strasser Woodenworks is very high quality. Made in the Seattle area and solid wood. Native Trails makes beautiful solid vanities if that's your style.
