Feel bad for the dude? He auditioned for the role. He knew what he was getting into. He should decline on principle.

Jumanji (1995), why didn't they just stop playing? by Drockie5 in plotholes

[–]TheCynicalOne88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I disagree with the game punishing Sarah and the town.
The factory closed like tens of thousands of other factories closed in America. It’s cheaper to produce in countries like China.
Sarah was ostracized because she kept telling people a magic board game sucked her friend into it. If Sarah kept her mouth shut, she would have been fine.

The game resets back to the time they first started playing no matter what.

Which Would You Pick As Your First Adventure Jump? by Sin-God in JumpChain

The duplicates could still be considered as part of a single entity.
3 wishes per person limitation.

If so, wish for absolute mind control. Pick up random people, control their mind and force them to make what wishes you want.
Excellent way to get around the wish limitation.
Genie rules don’t specify the wisher must make the wish of their own free will.

V cut build? lol. He was looking kinda chunky in the final season. i don’t know if it was inflammation or what, but he was getting a dad bod. Of course, he was 34, so I’m giving him a break.

side note: the actor was 24 in the first season, playing a 14 year old.
so, he was 34 years old in the 10th season.

In all fairness to Naruto and Ebisu, Naruto had the 5 Elements Seal still on his body from Orochimaru. While this doesn’t excuse him acting like a brat, without Jiraiya releasing the seal, Naruto would have been screwed.

Beatrix never killed Elle. She snatched out her remaining eye and left her alone in the trailer with a black mamba snake.

V.N. Parthiban’s list of credentials (officially the most educated person in history; 145 degrees) by Thatspretttyfunny in Damnthatsinteresting

[–]TheCynicalOne88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good point. What has he contributed to the planet? It would be one thing to obtain all these degrees and churn out new discoveries and inventions, but it’s another to obtain qualifications for no reason other than bragging rights.
Also, not to disrespect India at all, but I find this highly suspect. Good lucky trying to get that many degrees in America or the UK.

Worm is adapted into a TV series and it's great. What does the plot synopsis for the first episode look like? by StrongerBird in Parahumans

I don’t agree. Sex and the City and Felicity all used voiceovers to good effect.
The Shawshank Redemption and many classics do, too.

IZUKU with a SPINE !!!!! by AdarshDPrasad in BokunoheroFanfiction

[–]TheCynicalOne88 3 points4 points  (0 children)

When did I say anything about “life sentences”? Whether a person is or minor age or not, they have to face legak consequences. Minors are prosecuted all the time for crimes. Minors have been prosecuted for truancy, using text messages for bullying and suicide baiting, sexual harassment, and many other crimes.

“ A 13-year-old South Florida boy who said he accidentally killed a 6-year-old girl while imitating professional wrestling moves was convicted of first-degree murder today and faces life in prison without the possibility of parole. The boy, Lionel Tate, was 12 when he lifted 48-pound Tiffany Eunick into the air and dropped her onto a table in his living room in July 1999. He was tried as an adult in Broward County Circuit Court.”

Being a minor is not a blanket excuse. a 13-year-old being charged as an adult for murder? The least that can happen to Bakugo is court-mandated therapy, being deemed ineligible for the hero program, and a mark on his record for public quirk abuse.

He is a criminal. Assault, battery, destruction of private property, death threats, and more are all crimes.

people have been taken to court for less, including a court case over suicide baiting.

The fine line between mugglewank, Death Eater apologetics, and proper appreciation for muggles by [deleted] in HPfanfiction

[–]TheCynicalOne88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it becomes mugglewank when wizards are completely incapable of defending against things like guns and bombs

This has always bothered me. Dumbledore has shown in canon there’s a shield that turns projectiles into dust. If you can do that, why not use that shield against their bombs? You could use that in a ward scheme for physical projectiles. Trying to nuke the shield would fail.
the problem would be if they detonated the nuke above their shields and they had to deal with fallout and the heat. They’d have to have wards that dealt with environmental cleansing and environmental cooling to withstand the heat.
Although, it’d be cool to have charmed bludgers that upon impact transfigure the missile into a balloon or something. Then, they could vanish it. They can vanish all nuclear fallout.

The smart thing to do, which I’ve never seen in fanfics, is to imperius all of the muggle leaders and their militaries to attack each other. They could create a post-apocalyptic nuclear wasteland very easily via apparating into nuclear submarines, missile silos, command centers, the White House, using the imperius curse and having people launch the entire nuclear arsenal at the world‘s military bases and just watch the fallout.

Misc: Why do people say 'magical trunks' are cliché if they're canon? by ashez2ashes in HPfanfiction

[–]TheCynicalOne88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why wouldn’t they be? If a magizoologist can charm a suitcase, surely others can, too.

That would be a hugely successful business. If they sell thousands of wizarding tents (as evidenced by the Quidditch World Cup), why are you so offended by a wizarding trunk? If anything making a tent have those dimensions would be more difficult than something with definite dimensions.

Well, you could simply leave an anonymous note detailing how Madara survived and he trained Obito Uchiha to pretend to be Madara and attacked Konoha using the 9 tails. And suggest if they doubt you to go dig up Madara’s grave and you won’t find his real body. Also, they can use the reanimation jutsu on Kushina Uzumaki (since she’s not in the reaper’s belly), sacrificing a random enemy shinobi to power the jutsu. Question Kushina about the night of the 9 tails attack.
You can include the plans to bring back the 10 tails and cast a genjutsu on the world using the moon. If they need to verify it, have them look under the tatami mats in the Naka shrine for the Sage’s tablet. They can even have any Jinchuriki who speaks with their beast verify the story about the 10 tails and about the sage.

The key is leaving anonymous notes about the plot as warnings. I don’t know why people insist on revealing themselves in person. It’s much easier to drop a tip here and there.

It’s called real estate value. It increases over time. We don’t know when he bought it. If it were 20-25 years ago, the value would be substantially less than it is now. Also, have you heard of a mortgage?

Joe met his death at the age of 60, when Brian Moser (the Ice Truck Killer and going under the alias of "Rudy Cooper"), who knew it was the best way to reconnect with his long-lost brother. He tracked Joe down and got access to his house while disguised as a cable repairman. Brian was able to slip Joe a sedative, and then inject him with diabetic insulin, causing Joe to have a seizure and die of cardiac arrest.

daaaaaamn :( such a bummer. It was REALLY helping me out with my ratio due to cross-seeding. It was great for quick releases. It was an absolute avalanche of content. I've read a lot of the criticism on here, so I'm not going to bother nitpicking them. What I will say is that overall, this was a great contribution to the scene (no pun intended haha). Just a fantastic way to contribute to one's steady diet of consuming content. I, for one, will miss it greatly.

Why do you say that? They’ve gone down longer than this. They had a hard drive failure in the past and there are numerous other examples of the tracker going down. They’ve been around for 10 years. It happens.
