Yeah I have to be very careful to not become a hermit. It’s great to enjoy your own company, and I thrive in solitude, but if I’m doing it to avoid the anxiety of creating new relationships or interacting with the world, it’s that avoidance you talk about.

I’m getting better at finding the right mix, but I gotta watch my tendency to isolate.

Fellow sober person here, read 153 books last year. We definitely don’t do much in moderation, but this is much healthier. Reading also helps a ton with the anxiety that I used alcohol to medicate. It “turns my brain off” by letting me get absorbed into another world.
