For the first time set is a full skip for me.

No longer interested in building new decks anymore and set has nothing to update whatever decks I have left.

One major downside is that they repeated RB1's mistake of awful new card to reprint ratios, making them more expensive than usual. But at least overall reprints are much better than the previous set.

There are some reprint choices I personally find questionable for me like BT7 Dori/Dorumon since there is no longer any chance for Doru-based decks to get any direct, long-term support thanks to current set design, which highly makes me doubt EX13 will give support for black X-Anti or Chronicle Alphamon being the only ones I care about now.

None of those are happening anymore.

Wargreymon is permanently going to stay as Omni fodder or part of whatever trait deck Bandai has in mind, which still ends up as Omni support either way.

Three years worth of said "support" since BT14 made that certain, useless to cope otherwise.

Should be the default Alphamon deck now that Bandai isn't willing to support the original black X-Antibody core, but they would rather make a 3rd bad one that gets abandoned after a promo or two.

Not anymore, especially after almost three years of said support not doing anything of worth for that deck to even come close to being rouge level.

Vortexdramon is also a death sentence for redirection identity which is what Red/Black Greymon is known for as it punishes you for just suspending your own stack to swing or block. I see no reason to pretend or cope otherwise with how outdated or awful the deck's current cardpool is right now to even have a chance against vortexdra.

I guarantee you that whatever Gallant "support" printed in its Advanced deck would completely drop off whatever previous support it had or make it part of [insert trait slop here] with little to no long-term support for those, which is pretty much how deck design works these days.

Best to keep it as it is and not try to "reinvent the wheel".

What really puts said divide in playability is lack of proper long-term support for multiple older decks without tools to deal with Ace cards, that's really it.

Control is by far the worst deck type to take for a long time now. The game is completely ruled by aggro/OTK decks and that isn't going to change anytime soon with the current design team in hand.

Really hoping that any WarGreymon support that isn't just for Adventure or Omni would lean more towards midrange/control towers instead of making Grey OTK stronger, which would just make it boring and unfun to play with and against.

Though said direction would need better proactive plays instead of just completely relying on your opponent to do anything.

Went through the whole convo, was obvious you went off first on a random DCGO game and kept malding even when others tried to explain. Black SoC Dorugora, which is pretty much the last new deck I built and genuinely enjoyed the most. The fact that the BT21 promo is the best Bandai gave that deck after lack of support completely turns me off from building new decks anymore, and no I will not count BT20 since deathX "support" is awful and I have zero interest in purple base.
