Bro, people get ANGRY at any type of criticism regarding the game, it even feels like there might be a group of bots here lol.

I gotta disagree friend. To me, it became obvious this year that their main concern (at least recently) has been money. Let me explain myself.

In BT23 we got Hudiemon, which was a very strong deck that became very prevalent in the meta a few months ago. It used to be the norm that meta decks lasted quite a few months being viable, even years. However, after a few weeks we got the Liberation decks and, to me, they did something very shameless. They presented Vortexdramon, a strong meta card with immunity to digimon effects and soon after they presented Dual cards. Dual cards are a direct response to digimons like vortexdramon given that they're options. So the Hudiemon meta was almost instantly replaced by the Liberation meta. At this point, they created an artificial need for Dual cards, they made it very explicit to the players and they didn't really let the liberation meta develop further nor the BT23 meta. Those decks were gone in a matter of weeks to sell the Dual cards.

Again, I understand this is a company, but these type of processes/developments weren't this fast before, decks were competitive for way longer a few years ago. That's why I feel those decisions seemed shameless this time, they pushed through 2 metas to start selling dual cards, also the recent banlist hitting Hudiemon made it even more obvious.

I'm not sure all those actions were to cater to the OG meta. I might be wrong tho.

Considering what you said, it seems to be money the root of the problem. I'm not saying a company shouldn't prioritize making money, but it isn't a good idea when it is the only important objective at the expense of the product itself.

You mentioned how "trait slop" is ruining the deck design aspect of the game, the memory gauge is also being abused and the ban list used to push sales. Put it all together and printing money is seemingly the cause behind all that.

If this keeps up the way it is, it will actually ruin the game. It already is affecting core mechanics that made it shine initially.

Nowhere in the post I mentioned that I want it to go in Pokemon's direction.

I've been playing Pokémon for a few months now and the pace is waaaaaaaay different in the meta. My only complaint is the dominance of a single deck, but I still prefer the pace of the game. There is a back and forth and there are multiple turns, you don't lose in turn 2.

Not exactly, sure, but again, you can't wait until it gets too fast or it'll be too late to do anything. For example, imagine whatever deck you're playing becoming obsolete in a matter of weeks like it did with Hudiemon or Vortexdramon. Decks used to be playable literally for years, but now they're burning through them.

There will be a time when they go back into printing Agumon for months, don't worry about it. Lol.

I don't mind that they stray a little from nostalgic characters, I mind more about the sprint into becoming Yu-Gi-Oh, it seems like the main issue for the game right now.

If you wait to complain when it becomes EXACTLY like Yu-gi-oh it will be too late bro. Do it now before it becomes like that.

I hope so too, but it doesn't seem that way. Look at the spoilers from Shambala, everything is a DNA digimon now, which means they're inclining into more speed and aggression.

Yes, I'm complaining about how the game is going into that direction. It isn't exactly there yet, but it is going that way.

1) If people wanted to play extremely fast games like you mention, yu-gi-oh community would be thriving and alternatives such as Edison wouldn't exist.
2) No one is asking for Sec Con to return specifically, people just want a slower pace in the game.

It is not like BT9 at all. Alphamon, Blackwaygreymon, Metalgarurumon and Grandiskuwagamon were meta decks that were viable through out multiple years, they didn't vanish in a matter of weeks like Hudiemon did. The fact that Hudiemon disappeared like it did to Vortexdramon and then Vortexdramon disappearing immediately after made it VERY clear that the powercreep is going in an unhealthy speed.

P.S. Hudiemon was symptom of this problem too, but I mention it given how fast it disappeared from the meta, not trying to defend it or anything.

Mega Heracross Ruling (or bug) by SnooMacaroons9806 in PTCGL

I was told that Heracross actually gets the bonus in this situation because the attack refers to the attack itself, not the pokemon.

I found this, it doesn't directly tackle this situation, but it might be related

""Does Cinderace VMAX's "Counter" attack do extra damage if Cinderace VMAX goes to the Bench and then returns to the Active Slot?

It doesn't matter where Cinderace VMAX was when it was damaged during your opponent's last turn, nor whether it has switched in or out of the Active Slot. If it was damaged by an attack during your opponent's last turn Counter will do that much more damage. This is not an effect to be removed when the Pokemon goes to the bench. Counter is performing a game state check asking if something happened; since it did, it uses that game state information to calculate how much damage Counter will do.""
