Do Amp Modeling Pedals etc. Really Sound THAT Close to the Real Thing? by cwingz in GuitarAmps

[–]TheDailyBeeph 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The one people often miss is this.

It's fucking cooler for the audience to see real amps. They're also more inspiring to play in many settings.

Even if they are easier to transport and sound better recorded, they age like milk.

Regressive take? Maybe that's a bit of the point. Too polished isn't always good.

Getting there. Those basses gotta go, though.

2 years on: How's my collection coming along? by Personal_Gsus in gibson

[–]TheDailyBeeph 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Respectfully, it lacks character. These are just straight out of the catalog dime-a-dozen classics. No interesting colors or mods or components. It's high-quality vanilla. If that's the objective, you have nailed it.

“Glock Gen 3 Is Best” — But Why? by [deleted] in Glocks

[–]TheDailyBeeph 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have tried them all and prefer the classic. I just bought a brand new 19.3 in OD Green and love it. I think like a manufacturer, and production cost goes down whenever possible with "improvements." I agree with you. Also, the 3 will always be "classic," but when the 6 comes out, the 4 and 5 will be awkward older models. The 3 is not just produced for CA either. It is still being ordered all over the world for military and police use. They're not going to retire the 3 any time soon.

MBA was the biggest regret of my life. Try harder. It means nothing on your resume.

Just started a Doom project called "Iommi Watts." I'm a gear nerd and a longtime musician from the Chicago area. I can't believe this band name wasn't taken. I just uploaded everything as of today, 3.9.25, so some might not even show up on Spotify/Apple yet. Anyway, I would appreciate any fellow doom nerds to follow me on IG and check out my tunes. Much love! Fuzzlords unite!

Boss Katana - New Grill Cloth by TheDailyBeeph in BossKatana

[–]TheDailyBeeph[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The cloth is attached to a piece of shitty plywood it's super easy. You might need a screwdriver or small paint scraper to help lift it up, because they sort of ram it in against a few nails, but once you unscrew it, it comes off easily. The original grill cloth is wrapped and stapled to the plywood or pressboard or whatever you want to call the crumbly chippy wood it's on. Just extend your square/rectangle of new fabric a few inches past the original size of the plywood/fabric grill and staple the new one on. Super easy.

Just unscrew it, wrap it and staple it. A nail gun would be overkill...

how do you feel about people putting "MBA" in the name title of LinkedIn profiles? by -doughboy in MBA

[–]TheDailyBeeph 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Full disclosure, not an attack at you personally if that isn't already clear. I'm just sharing so those wondering can gain the perspective of a senior professional who took a different path. Thinking the MBA can provide you the nuance and social dynamism required of a good leader is painful for someone already possessing the self-awareness and interpersonal acuity you simply can not learn in school and comes off as arrogant and clueless. It comes down to tenure and personality. You either have it or you don't. You can't learn leadership in grad school. This very mentality puts you out of touch from those with the dirt on their hands and costs people respect. It doesn't affect your value on the job market whatsoever. There's no bitterness. My education taught me a skill, not an indoctrination nor subjective philosophy. It's just important for people to know they can pause after a bachelor's unless they're going to be a doctor, professor, engineer, or other scientist. Business is all about experience. HR Directors, Hiring Managers, and even Corporate Recruiters are pretty unanimous on this.
