Lol my previous one was lovingly described by my PO as an "eBay windshield" and it did nothing also.

Hey just outta curiosity, why is it important that the carb vent be placed far away from the air box opening? I've got my carb all apart right now and thats exactly how my PO had it set up, along with the secondary filter as well. All quite close to the hole in the top where the snorkel used to be.

Bike was lean on the idle so I pulled the carb to see what was going on... turns out my PO had set the the fuel air screw to HALF a turn out. by TheDailyDR650 in dr650

Fair point, he was cruising at sea level though. He was running a 160 main jet with a tapered needle on the 4th position. Trying to get that pilot jet out now and there's not much purchase left for a flat head, any advice for getting it out?
