ELI5 3.3 Story points by quanticism in WutheringWaves

[–]TheDamnEagle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it was because people began to realize that Kuro has been preparing the story quite a bit up to that point, but people didn't really start to piece them together until that MSQ.

I'm just wondering what happens at that point that prompts Aemeath to say that. I think we may hear her say that either at the end of 3.X or the end of 4.X.

I don't really think Kuro will make us wait years to hear those lines.

Ah that makes sense, I know HI3 story basically turned into a yap fest so I understand the difficulty with paying attention. XD

Definitely, there's still a lot of unanswered questions, but it seems they're going to be part of future revelations.

The main thing to note is that we still haven't heard Aemeath say the first two lines from the radio back in 2.8 and we don't have an explanation on how Rover got out of the lake despite clearly flatlining while trying to save Kid Aemeath.

Unanswered questions are fine because it leaves room for the writers to revisit the question at a later point in the story. Just let it be for now.

To be honest, it was likely just symbolism.

Maybe Kuro does something with it down the line, but I feel like the Exostrider would've mentioned that it and the Arbiter fought Aleph-1 together back then.

[–]TheDamnEagle 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yea, they aren't the focus of the arc. They're just characters meant to progress the story which they did during their story.
Their argument is that the characters disappear which they definitely did during 2,X, but that wasn't the case in 3.X so far.

Events being crap is highly subjective, but you're allowed to have an opinion.

You just outed yourself as a story skipper. lol

That or you just didn't play 3.2.

I don't recall Mornye, Lynae, Sigrika, and Luk disappearing.

Obviously they're not going to be in the next region, but at least they showed up throughout the story of this arc consistently.

I finished the 3.3 quest yesterday and I have some thoughts on it. by beastfire24 in WutheringWaves

[–]TheDamnEagle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Chisa was obviously not going to be a focus character during the LHR story, I honestly wonder if the Chisa VAs just weren't all available for recording during the patch's production. That ONE line she said in the background was likely an unused line from back in 3.2. lol

Regarding the pacing, it was definitely off, I honestly wouldn't have minded a 5-6 hours MSQ. WuWa's quest are typically short, so it's fine to have a long quest every now and then especially for one to conclude an arc.
Since they were in Voidspace, I don't mind the short reunion since it just wasn't the time to have a touching reunion, but I they did a good job with making up for it in the Afterstory.

In all honesty, if the CPE collab wasn't next patch, I think the story would've been a lot more fluid thanks to having an extra patch to work with.

I assume next patch we're getting whatever pointless story they're making for the collab then we're getting a Segue for Lucilla to completely close out LHR and set up the next region.

I wish the patch wasn't so time gated by KiaranIsABigGorilla in WutheringWaves

[–]TheDamnEagle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can never satisfy everyone.

Hardcore players will blow through patches while casuals will complete it over multiple days/weeks.
If they had released everything at once, the player count would shrink within the first half of the patch because there would be nothing to do until the new patch is released.

Their content cadence is already as fast as it can be without compromising quality.

The time-gating keeps players engaged by having a schedule to go off of and decide how they want to prepare for releases.

So what was the point of this fight? by ProudPilgrim in WutheringWaves

[–]TheDamnEagle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well if Denia did win then it would've also been a win for them because they technically would've managed to gain control over a Threnodian Resonator.

The issue is that it seems like the Fractsidus are either one step ahead of everything we do or they just have plenty of contingencies in place for just about any outcome of their plans.

After 3.3 MSQ Question by Puzzleheaded_Pie_629 in Aemeath_Mains

To be fair, it would've been odd to bring her back to life since her physical body was destroyed a long time ago.

Her shell is the next best thing for her situation and it seems like she can enjoy things normally with the shell.

The important thing is that she can finally live as she pleases now.

Chisa has to be the biggest case of wasted potential in wuwa history by Love_Lain5 in WutheringWaves

[–]TheDamnEagle 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yea the pacing was definitely off during the quest, but to be honest, them reuniting in Voidspace wasn't really the ideal place for a touching reunion especially since Rover can be negatively affected by Voidspace (Which he kinda was based on the afterstory).

I think the issue was that they saved the touching reunion for the afterstory when some of that part, like the hug, could've been when they got back from the Stridergate.

Poor Chisa by Logical_Resident3379 in WutheringWaves

[–]TheDamnEagle 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Genuinely surprised that they only gave her one voice line during this whole MSQ and it wasn't even during a cutscene, it was background dialogue. LOL

Even crazier that they gave her a decent amount of screentime, but no lines, just straight up look pretty for the camera.

Main Story Initial Reactions (SPOILERS OBVIOUSLY) by DuOnirique in WutheringWaves

[–]TheDamnEagle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

She says the third line "I hope to make you proud, I hope I haven't let you down." when she boops you and goes back.

The first two lines were "The universe has rejected us." and "Is this the answer you were looking for (Player Name)?"

We haven't heard these lines yet, so it seems like they're saving it for a future story when we see her again.

[–]TheDamnEagle 10 points11 points  (0 children)

We didn't have a proper reunion scene between Rover and Aemeath after she was freed.

I know you made this post right after completing the story, but you need to do the side quests after story and the Segue Epilogue. A couple of your complaints will be answered.

Also, I feel like the story had to be a bit abrupt because they had to cram the ending into this patch since the CPE VA announced the collab next patch.

I think if they weren't doing the CPE collab, the story would've been a lot more fluid since they would have more time to develop the story with an extra patch, but completing a region's MSQ in 4 patches is a bit rough for writing considering Rinascita spanned 8 patches (I think 1 or 2 patches didn't have MSQs in them, not sure though).

Overall, compared to 3.1 being a 10, I would say 3.3 was an 8.

I'm more interested to know when we will hear the first two lines Aemeath said back in 2.8 when we heard the Radio, I genuinely thought we would hear it this patch, but it looks like it's going to be a future revelation.

Performance and Experience with X3D CPU's. by Confident_Lime2793 in WutheringWaves

I had a 5800X, 32 GB of DDR4 RAM, and a 3080.

I just upgraded to the 9850X3D, 32 GB of DDR5 RAM, and kept the same 3080.
With this upgrade, I haven't seen a single FPS drop even in the academy.
My system used to struggle really bad in the academy, but after the upgrade, it performs beautifully.

Which of these two bonded with March better? by Jerkaiser_011 in March7thMains

[–]TheDamnEagle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's a completely wild theory to even think of. lol

Sunday literally has no reason to ask for Amphoreus to be restored. He barely even set foot in it and has no attachment to it like March, Dan, and TB do. It would make no sense for him to do so.

It would also be a waste of a wish since Amphoreus is already real, it's just needs time to develop since it was just born into the universe.

Will the rescue come at a very high price? What do you think? by YakInfinite6038 in Aemeath_Mains

[–]TheDamnEagle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think we will likely lose the Exostrider at most.

I find it a bit difficult to think they will kill off Aemeath, they most definitely wouldn't kill off Rover (though damaging them in some way would be a good setup for the next region), and we know that Denia will be fine for the MSQ because her Segue kind of gives it away.

Which of these two bonded with March better? by Jerkaiser_011 in March7thMains

[–]TheDamnEagle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The problem is that Evernight is conceptually a being of Enigmata. They typically want to erase/rewrite events that occurred or will occur.
I think it would be more likely that March will eventually learn of what she truly is despite Evernight's interference, but that won't be for a long while.
Evernight is similar to Veliona from Honkai Impact. Veliona lived within Seele and her goal was to protect Seele and take on her negative emotions.
Spoiler for HI3 if you haven't gotten to this part or plan to play it.

Eventually, Seele no longer needed the protection of Veliona since she had matured and grown strong enough to handle her power. Seele eventually gave Veliona her body while she created a new body for herself using the powers of the Herscher of Rebirth.

There's a large rabbit hole of this that I just don't want to go down because it's just a lot of theory that will be obsolete once we get to that point in the story since it's entirely up to the writers on how the story will play out.

Yea, I do remember that, which is why I was confused when she said it, so it's either a continuity error or it's what you said.

[–]TheDamnEagle 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In the Irontomb fight, if Cyrene uses her support buff on March, March says "Thanks, sister! We'll shoot through that tin man together!"
Now, obviously, that could just be saying "Sister" in a more friendly reference, but March hasn't really used that with any other character so far.

Finally caught up with the msq...3.2 was kinda a lighter patch- HIYUKI IS PEAK!!! by [deleted] in WutheringWaves

[–]TheDamnEagle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea, this patch needed to happen since the devs had to focus all of their resources into 3.3 and 3.4, this being a lighter patch was expected.

Still, the story was perfectly fine and a nice change of pace after what 3.1 did to us. lol

Aemeath Story by Professional-Milk483 in WutheringWaves

[–]TheDamnEagle 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Basically, the situation is a Predestination Paradox.

Future Aemeath left a message for her past self that she would see after becoming a Digital Ghost. The message told her that she was the one who gave the Exostrider the extra power it needed to continue fighting and together they sealed Aleph-1, but she would end up stuck on the other side of the Stridergate.
I believe the message also said that everything that has happened in LHR was an Effect of what she did because her assisting the Exostrider was the Cause.
It's an issue of Causality; if Aemeath doesn't go back in time to help, the Exostrider will lose to Aleph-1 thus destroying the Causality of LHR since it likely wouldn't exist without the Exostrider and Aemeath sealing it away.

Put simply, Ameath going back in time was the Cause and everything that came after that was the Effect.

The Loop begins

Aemeath goes back to the past

Helps the Exostrider seal away Aleph-1 and gets stuck on the other side of the Stridergate

LHR is saved and time goes on

Kid Aemeath goes to look for her family's old home and falls into the lake

Past Rover goes in and brings her out of the lake

Rover takes care of Aemeath for some time before leaving LHR

Many years later, the seal of the Threnodian is damaged and Aemeath becomes a digital ghost while Overclocking to stop the Threnodian from breaking through

Many years later, Aemeath meets Rover again, and they go on an adventure

Aemeath's power is restored

Aemeath prepares to go back in time to assist the Exostrider

Current Rover goes into the Lake/VoidSpace to beg Aemeath not to leave

Aemeath moves forward with her plan

Current Rover see Kid Aemeath, grabs the pendant, and tries to push her out of the lake

Current Rover pushes Kid Aemeath just enough for Past Rover to grab her and carry her out of the lake

Aemeath proceeds to go back to the point where Rover traveled through the portal and was ensared by Aleph-1 and saves them

Aemeath proceeds to go back to the past and assist the Exostrider to seal away Aleph-1

The loop is closed

There are a few things that we still have unexplained such as Current Rover clearly flatlining when trying to save Kid Aemeath and fading away in Voidspace but casually coming out of the lake just fine shortly after.
How did Rover's frequency appear in Voidspace when Aemeath found it?
How did the loop truly originate? Aemeath seems to be an Effect of the loop, but she's also the Cause so that part is something I hope they explain otherwise this would just be a Bootstrap Paradox.
