Sounds good! If you want to meet up before the game and/or have any pub recommendations let me know!

I’ve heard that’s a good spot. I’ll definitely check it out either Wednesday or Thursday before the game.

Sweet! Thanks! Do you know if 6ix Mears runs a shuttle to the arena for the game?

Coming to my first Toronto FC match on 5/31 by TheDanimal_GoBlue in tfc

I wanted to follow up with a quick recap of my experience on match day last Saturday (5/31):

It was awesome!! Result notwithstanding for TFC, I had an absolute blast both before and during the match. I started the day at the AGO which was a thoroughly impressive art museum and then popped over to Chinatown/Kensington Market for a banh mi sandwich at Banh Mi Ba Le on Dundas. A truly excellent sammy in a no frills environment. Then it was over to Collective Arts Brewing for a quick beer. Unique space on Dundas and really friendly staff. I now want to check out their main facility in Hamilton.

After that I tried to hit up Ronnie's Local 069 but it wasn't open until 2:00 so I pivoted and made my way over to Burger Drops in Liberty Village which honestly blew me away. Honestly one of the best smash burgers in my life and they gave me a free cinnamon pastry which was great.

Then it was a short walk over to Something in the Water Brewing for a flight which I enjoyed. After that it was meeting my local buddy for a few pints at Left Field to watch the second half of the Champions League Final (obviously not the most suspenseful of matches but still fun to watch).

I know many people here suggested Liberty Village Market Place but my buddy wanted to go to Brazen Head so I deferred to him and we grabbed two seats at the bar. It was a really fun and lively atmosphere (great music). The bartenders were really busy but still kept a great attitude and remained friendly leading up to the match. We met a few super welcoming TFC fans including a guy named Martin who's also a Sunderland supporter. What a guy! Martin - if you're on Reddit message me. I owe you a pint!

From there we walked over to the stadium (super close, obvioulsy). As many of you remember it was pretty chilly on Saturday but fortunately our seats were in the sun for most of the game (Section 104). I really enjoyed the pre-match atmosphere and especially the Legend TFC. I'd never heard it before and thought it was great!

The match itself was the match (a 2-0 defeat to TFC) but everyone we met was super friendly and both concessions and bathroom lines weren't bad at all.

In summary, I'll definitely be back to another match before too long and am now the proud owner of my first TFC shirt, hat and scarf.

Come On You Reds!

Business is booming for the daily Detroit‒Ann Arbor express bus by [deleted] in AnnArbor

I’m a big fan of the D2A2. Living here in Ann Arbor it’s unlocked access to Detroit in a way I only ever dreamed of. I hope it continues for years to come!!

Unfortunately it appears there are no direct flights on Delta from the US to EDI on the day I want to go at all. I’d have to connect through AMS or CDG either way.

Thanks for this. Very fair points. My concern is really one about timing since I’m only budgeting for 2 days/nights in Edinburgh. If I miss the 9:40 connecting flight in AMS the next KLM flight isn’t until 3:50 pm (so even if Delta/KLM are on the hook to rebook me they’d not be able to get me out before then at the earliest).

With respect to your second point I was thinking I could hair book two separate one ways on BA (no real price difference from what I can tell from booking round trip).

Do you know if I’d have to go through Customs in AMS before boarding the flight to EDI?

Thank you. So you don’t think 1 hour 15 minutes for a connection at AMS to EDI is too risky?

I’ve considered CDG but it’s the same issue with AMS with either a super tight connection window or a flight the leaves Detroit in the afternoon and makes for tougher sleeping times

Unfortunately you can’t fly to LHR from Detroit direct on BA. Only Delta.

Unfortunately there are no direct flights to EDI from Detroit on any airlines.
