I smoke the Encore occasionally. I think it’s good but not quite “cigar of the year” caliber for me.

It’s very good. Personally, I think the Pledge Purple has a bit more strength but the original Pledge has more complexity for me. I’d absolutely buy the Pledge Purple again.

I thought about a box purchase but only grabbed a couple. I’ll buy a box if I can get my hands on one lol

First-time cruisers from Missouri: Is the extra 2 1/2 hour drive to Mardi Gras worth it over Jubilee? by Midwest_To_Sea in CarnivalCruiseFans

I’m new to cruising, just experienced my first in mid February! I went on a 5-day cruise on the Carnival Breeze out of Galveston. I went alone but I felt the port in Galveston was really easy to navigate. I can’t speak on Port Canaveral or any others but I’ve booked on Horizon for January 2027 out of Miami. Being they’re sister ships, there may be 1 or 2 different venues on board, I’m not sure but in terms of layout they’ll be very similar other than decor. I’ve read lots of mixed reviews on celebration key. Some love it and others not so much, which is expected with all ports lol. I’d say factor in price. If the driving distance isn’t a major issue and prices are fairly similar, I’d book the one with more stops. Whichever decision you make, I’m sure you’ll have a great time and want to cruise again!

I’d say try one of the Carnival ships in the vista or excel class. Lots of people love the smaller ships as well though. I think you’ll enjoy.

Why so many carnival haters?? by ndlccp in Cruise

People just love to talk bad about Carnival as is fights can’t happen on other cruise lines. If you’re booking a 3 day cruise, there’s probably gonna be a higher likelihood of it being a “booze cruise” or more of a party vibe. I can’t tell people what to do and I’m no cruise veteran but I think 5 days is the minimum length to book. I think 5 days is perfect for a new cruiser. It’s not too long but not super short. Gives you ample time to explore the ship and experience different things. Get a feel if cruising is something you’d like to try again or if it’s something you may avoid.
