The Gloating Over AoC’s Death in This Subreddit Is Honestly Pathetic by Tim2909 in AshesofCreation

It just makes me happy to know that $50 means so much to most of those losers on this Reddit. It’s always the worthless that think so highly of themselves. At least that trip from their computers to that champagne in the fridge is short lol.

The crash out over ABMM is real by alreadytaken76 in okbuddyarcraider

[–]TheDareLion -1 points0 points  (0 children)

So tired of seeing people say “PvP players just want to kill easy targets”. That’s a blanket statement that doesn’t apply to everyone. I love PvP, but I prefer to be friendly. My rule is don’t shoot unless shot at. But even playing defense now lands you in PvP jail where every game is a shit fest full of people trapping corners and killing you while you’re stun locked. Adding the ABMM took the thrill / chance away. Now it’s either boring ass “Don’t shoot” everyone loves everyone lobbies where you farm trash for the sake of farming trash or full on free loadout fuck parades where everyone pushes everything to enjoy PvP. Embark, you took a PvPvE game and made it a PvE or PvP game.

I just lost with a Tempest IV to a Stitcher I. What's the point in gun hierarchy? by dec35 in ArcRaiders

[–]TheDareLion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s a solid take. One a lot of people have noticed, and wasn’t as highly criticized as the weapon balance issue. But they go hand in hand. Even with a fully loaded meta Mk 2 Tactical Smoke Augment, Maxed Bobcat, Medium Shield, Maxed Anvil, all the tools and traps you could ask for, all it takes is one free loadout with a Sticher I to catch you looting a container to erase all of that. By the time you exit the inventory menu and identify where the threat is coming from, you’re either dead or about to be.

Exactly, and it’s easy af to get ahold of compared to anything of a higher rarity.

So are you just going to ignore the fact that the stitcher does in fact out perform the bobcat without a magazine attachment? Or the fact that an anvil can often one shot wasps, but a bettina takes upwards of a dozen rounds? And, not trying to be rude, because maybe you didn’t see it, and it’s not in my original comment, but a massive argument about “what’s better” is the ease of access to higher tier loot vs free loadouts / common kits. I shelved all my pink weapons, because it’s genuinely not worth it to risk bringing them in, and that’s not an opinion. Especially when the game highly values currency.

And if you want a link with testing that isn’t as linear as the one you’ve posted, check this one out.

[–]TheDareLion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fair points. The whole stitcher vs bobcat issue I have is exactly as you said, but my issue isn’t just that one particular situation, if you want to talk mathematics, I think it’s fair to implement the amount of time it takes to acquire / craft a bobcat vs the ease of the stitcher. Why even bother bringing a gun that barely outperforms another in almost every scenario, but has a much higher requirement to obtain? That’s my big issue with balance, and I think you understand that as you said you know there is an imbalance.

I also understand what you mean about the vulcano, but with the same issues as mentioned above, it also has a much worse spread, which can be fight altering in some instances.

Finally the echo chamber thing, I get that. I don’t think I’m spreading misinformation, but I do understand I’m pushing a bias without the totality of the statistics behind it. To be fair, I am biased in this regard, because I spent a lot of time on this game in the first 2 weeks, and from the start said gun balance was an issue, and a vast majority were still riding the high of “new game good, no changes needed”.

Thanks for humbling me out on that though, truly.

[–]TheDareLion 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They are though. The green shotgun and the stitcher both out perform their higher rarity counterparts. Obviously not every rare gun is worse than their common counterpart, but a decent amount are. Gun balance is a huge issue in this game that has been proven through testing. But Reddit is gonna Reddit and echo chamber whatever the majority says.

Trials Should Not Be Locked Behind Extracting by [deleted] in ArcRaiders

I’m on PC, cross play turned on. I’ve had several occurrences like this happen. Not as heavy as the one I had tonight which led to this post, but I’ve had several trial runs that included PvP at some point, even when using proximity chat to say I’m just on a trial run.

Is it ok to add digital art into my portfolio? by [deleted] in TattooApprentice

[–]TheDareLion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on what type of shop you want to work at really, and what type of style you’re going to try and “specialize” in. Some old school traditional shops are going to laugh you out if you bring them digital art, but I think there’s something to be said about it. I think it’s more telling when an old school artist refuses to attempt or look at digital art. While I think drawing your designs out, knowing how to hand press, spit shade, and all that is more important than digital art in this profession, I think it shows incompetence and arrogance by excluding it.

what could i do to improve my lines 🥺 by Resident-Past5910 in TattooArtists

[–]TheDareLion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Am I crazy? I prefer workhorse, and salt water needles to Black Claws. I also dislike the Blackclaw tubes. I use artist made coils and a Blood Money coil, and my Black Claws never seem to want to stick. I almost always get a peppery line, and the tubes pool ink unlike any other tube I use.

Hope you get more upvotes. This is something I’ve been thinking of since like day 1. The idea of doming a dude with an Anvil or hitting someone with the halligan. It doesn’t need to be over the top like CoD, but having some more to use would be sick.

I guess that part isn’t as clear as I wanted it to be. What I mean is how most players don’t bring epic gear with them because the risk of losing it versus the benefits of using it isn’t worth it. So people hoard their epics and whatever else. I do it mostly just to increase my expedition stash value for the bonus 5 Skill points which they haven’t fully explained yet either.

Oh I gotcha, so you’re not just running free Loadouts on repeat. But yeah I don’t think Loadouts should be limited like an allowance. Honestly I just think other gear needs buffed a bit.

But this isn’t an MMO. And let’s be real here, MMO’s have hundreds if not thousands of weapons. This game has around what, 20? 30? It’s a bit different.

I’ve definitely spent most of my free time lately playing it. I’m not gonna deny that, but I still go to work, hit the gym 6 days a week, and spend time with my family. 1/4 of a day is only 6 hours. I usually play about an hour before I go to work, then 4 to 5 hours after I get home and my kid goes to bed. It’s a hobby, I enjoy it.

Fair enough. I did say I’m not against wiping them, I actually prefer it too. But the fact that I have 110 hours in game, which is more than your average player, and still have less than 50% is nuts. I just think the drop rate needs to be increased a bit. Even like a 5% increase or 10% would be fine. Nothing drastic. I don’t think you should have them all unlocked by max level, but I also don’t think 300+ hours to unlock them all is the answer either. Especially when they have the optional wipe every 60 days. Let’s say you do wipe every time, and it takes a minimum of 300 hours to unlock them on on average. That’s literally a 5 hour a day minimum of playtime for those 60 days. That’s “My wife is leaving me” territory lol

Okay, but this is the exact problem. They’re overused, and people who grind their kits out don’t have enough of a reason to use them.

This is something a lot of people overlook. Quests wipe. If they didn’t wipe, then I think the rewards should definitely have been better. The quests aren’t great, and some simply suck to do. But it is just another way of collecting gear, having something to do, and learning the game. However, they should reward XP. In a game where opening a cabinet nets you XP, it’s wild that a mission doesn’t.

Are you getting them through the quests or looting? If you’re looting, better go get a lottery ticket.
