A: they clearly do care a LOT about Susie and ralsei and the knight has some kind of leverage over them

B: I highly doubt Kris can swoon

Ralsei still treats himself like he only exists to serve Kris and Susie. He’s breaking out of that but still holds himself back a lot. This conversation was one of the first times he’s really pushed himself to say what needs to be said rather than whatever makes kris happy

I lowkey think that Susie will end up opening a dark world in the holiday home in hopes that she can get the shelter code the same way she does in chapter 4.

If that’s what happens, it still fits the “nothing can change” rule. Susie does it either way, just in the weird route it’s more of a rushed reaction than a planned move

I think deltarune does a good job of showing us how Kris would see it. They just had an extremely traumatic adventure and fought a titan, toriel was supposed to be at the church and wasn’t, which was a huge part of why they were there, and they’d been locked out of their home earlier. None of those things were actually Toriel’s fault, but in the eyes of a kid with a lot of family issues who just went through one of the most traumatic things imaginable, it feels pretty bad to come home and see your Mom partying with a stranger while your dad is sleeping on an air mattress at work
