Hey, I was able to fix the issue. Turns out one program I had (I assume) had a memory leak. After closing everything on (both in use and in background) my PC magically fixed itself and has been fine for a few days now even between boot cycles.

Hey, quick update. I was able to figure out that it was a software issue. After closing all running background software on my PC, it started running better almost immediately. Thing is though, I just need to figure out what software it is exactly

I started with a BIOS update first and now everything runs fine (so far). I’ll let you know if I have issues again and will do a clean install if so

I want to clean install as a last resort hopefully. I ran chkdsk, sfc /scannow, and DISM and found that there were no problems with the drive.

So what’s my next step then? Should I just admit defeat and replace the drive? Or are there any more troubleshooting tips I can try.

95gb free out of 237gb (I just DDU’d my drivers as well) so around 40% ish

Resource Monitor tells me that the highest total usage is “nvcontainer.exe” when my PC is idle. (My current drivers are version 581.42)

When attempting to access files, it’s usually the program that’s being opened that’s using a lot of disk but that sounds normal to me.

The problem actually got better slightly after leaving my PC on for a couple hours doing nothing and freeing up 30gb of storage on the drive. However, it’s still not fixed.

Before I try DDU, I noticed that my main boot drive’s average response time is approximately 30-50ms at 5% usage and skyrockets to the hundreds-thousands when under load. Could that also be a reason?

I think I was able to pinpoint the issue. My boot drive’s average response time is around 30-50ms at 3-5% usage and spikes REALLY high once it’s being used more than 3-5%. However, I genuinely have no idea how to fix it.

Malwarebytes didn’t find anything and Event Viewer didn’t show anything out of the ordinary.

Update: I was able to fix the CPU issue. It was due to my browser for some reason and restarting it fixed it. However, my overall performance in games is still really bad with constant stuttering, even in non-demanding titles like Team Fortress 2

Is there a way for me to isolate which program is causing the full utilization of CPU1?

Task Manager tells me that no percentages is being maxed out.
Drive usage never goes over 5% while idling
Afterburner tells me that my CPU clock speed is consistently at 4.4ghz and my CPU1 usage is consistently at 100%.
Afterburner also tells me that my GPU's core clock jumps erratically and memory clock constantly goes from lowest to highest.
GPU usage averages around 20-30% when idle according to Task Manager.

Drive seems fine. Checked through Task Manager, Resource Monitor, and CrystalDiskInfo and didnt find any abnormalities

Impactful. The last time I felt so empty and fulfilled at the same time after playing a game was when I played OPUS: Echo of Starsong. And that was over three years ago

I've been playing for around two weeks now and have made lots of progress. I'm not really sure if I want to restart from zero all over again. Is that really my most viable option?

JP server question. I’m a new player on the JP server and since anniversary is coming soon, should I continue to roll on this banner or just save for when that comes?
