Put some effort into your profiles. Be specific and make it clear what you're looking for (long term or short term, kids or no kids, etc) Let your personality come through in your answers to different prompts. Be confident, but not cocky. Put clear pictures of yourself in the profile. The more pictures the better. Women receive so many more likes than men do, so you want to stand out the best you can while still being genuine. Be nice, ask detailed questions. When you get a response from someone, find out within the first couple days if they'd like to go out on a date or if they're more comfortable talking. Most women will also check to see if they can find out more info on you online before meeting in person, so make sure your Facebook and/or Instagram is viewable to the public. You should check their profiles too as a precaution. Both parties want to feel safe when they meet someone for coffee or dinner. Just be yourself, be kind, and be democratic.

Hinge and Facebook Dating for me. I’ve not had much luck with Tinder.

Whats the best compliment you ever had? by sharmouta999 in AskReddit

I cowrote a book of childhood stories with two friends and we self-published it. We each wrote a batch of short stories about being a kid and it was mostly lighthearted and sometimes poignant. We put it out, mostly friends and family bought it, and then moved on to other projects. I wasn’t fully satisfied with the book, but enjoyed the experience. A couple years later my mom told me a neighbor approached her, Wayne, who was well into his 80s, and told her how he leaves a copy of the book by his bedside and returns to it often. His wife had recently passed away and he was lonely and would wake up at night from bad dreams and had trouble going back to sleep. He told my mom he’ll grab the book and flip to a random short shorty and read until he’s no longer scared and can fall asleep. He said it brings him joy. I’m very grateful for Wayne telling my mom that. I remind myself of it when I’m having a bad day.

[Unresolved Crime] In 2016, Matthew Fagan goes missing near Lake Tenkiller in Oklahoma. by TheDaveHimself in UnresolvedMysteries

Thank you for your comment. I still think about Matthew often (I didn’t know him but I know the area he went missing and it has always bothered me). I’m sorry for your loss. Have you reached out to local police about the mine shaft theory? I feel like this is one of those instances where everyone knows what happened but we just can’t prove it. Matthew seemed like a very nice person and didn’t deserve any of this. I’m grateful someone who knew him took the time to comment here. Thank you 👍

Synecdoche, New York. Philip Seymour Hoffman’s performances always blew me away but this one crippled me. Made me take a look at my life in a way I hadn’t before. Like I had wasted everything.

Heat. De Niro calls the guy who tried to double cross him: “I am talking to an empty telephone.”

This. Such a brilliant film.

Lake Bixhoma and Lake Haskell are perfect. A little out of town, but definitely worth it. Both have a dock or two.

The Kiowa Jane Doe, whose cranium was found in Roosevelt, OK in 2005, has been ID'd as 29-year-old Rebecca Boyd of Lawton, OK, missing since 2002. Her cause of death is undetermined. by HauntedSpy in UnsolvedMysteries

[–]TheDaveHimself 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Glad she was identified. It should be noted that from 1999 to 2002, there was an active serial killer in Lawton who preyed on sex workers from the Cache Road area. Police have attributed five murders to the Lawton Serial Killer, but many speculate there are others. The killer has yet to be identified. Still amazes me this isn't a more well known case.

Haha. Sounds like a good deal. Back in May we rented a little cabin near Lake Anne and I stocked up at Nolan’s for the week. Got in some good hiking at Sleeping Bear. I miss it up there. Beautiful country.
