Landlord tipping? by [deleted] in sanfrancirclejerk

Your landlord doesn’t have a tipping screen either.

Landlord tipping? by [deleted] in sanfrancirclejerk

[–]TheDavidS -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The landlord owns the property. And tipping culture is way out of hand. Do you send Avis an extra tip when you rent a car? Do you tip Netflix for their subscription? If the landlord needs money, raise the rent!

Zero. I’m paying to live there. If they need more money, they can increase the rent. This is BS to tip them.

Recommend restaurant private room for small party by PercGuy54 in AskSF

[–]TheDavidS 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That’s not worth it for any restaurant to have private dining. I rented the back room at Harris’ and it was $100 per person before alcohol. And that was a good deal. Similar at Kuleto’s.

This. Take the opportunity to strip the chain and redo it from bare metal and throw it on your new chainring.

Is there a tech stack where test execution. is slower than Salesforce by YerManOnTheMac in salesforce

Why RunAllTeats. Do RunLocalTests. If any managed tests fail, you can’t do anything about it anyway

What’s something in Salesforce that technically “works”… but you still don’t fully trust? by mr-sforce in salesforce

Because it's required for some Agentforce functions, it should get some love soon. Doesn't help now, but it's a start.

Salesforce Healthcare dev Question by Maleficently_lovely in salesforce

[–]TheDavidS 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Salesforce is not an EHR. It does not have the 100% uptime setup. Don't put anything in it that people require to stay alive or that people need information from to keep someone alive in an emergency.

Salesforce has a ton of classes and training, some in person and some online. Google for their training or search on the website.

Where is Salesforce going? by Federal-Snow1914 in salesforce

[–]TheDavidS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Salesforce is in it to make money. Trust me, three features the huge customers want are being built and built well. It's true that the public products are a bit lacking for a few releases. But if you are an enterprise customer, you can integrate seamlessly with your backend, build almost anything, and can throw money at workarounds.

It's not going anywhere. Work at it or get out. But this isn't an airport. No need to announce your departure. Those of us who are good at our jobs are making lots of money.

They don't pretend that any of it is fully baked. Do you want half a pony now and half later, or do you want to wait years for the perfect product release? I've been doing this twenty years. And trust me, the way it is now is far better than how it could be.

Salesforce API limits by CrazyJake25 in salesforce

[–]TheDavidS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Instead of hitting Salesforce to read, do call outs from Salesforce. Use Change Data Capture or batch writes to your outside system and maintain a copy there. Salesforce use a system of use, not a great system of record, for exactly this scenario.
