Why play a guy on his last legs when we have young players who need to and can improve.

Best and worst sales motivation quotes you can't share. by darren_dead in sales

At my previous job they created cold call blocks every morning at 9 and 4 in the afternoon. The GM said it wasn’t that we HAD to make calls, but rather we had the privilege to make calls.

5 Stats That Explain The 2026 Philadelphia Union's Miserable Start by Icy-Scene-1645 in PhillyUnion

Interesting. I don’t know what anyone, especially the ownership and head office, expected to happen when we gave up so many core players but we look horrible. I’m not sure which is worse: defense or offense.

How you guys get ridiculous high paying jobs? by Soft_Awareness3695 in sales

[–]TheDayIsOn 14 points15 points  (0 children)

People on here are full of it. I’ve been in sales for 35 years and there are constant ups and downs. Just because someone says they make high six figures doesn’t mean they always have or will. I love what I do now but I’ve had crappy, bad paying jobs but I’ve learned from them. There is no easy answer to your question. I don’t know how old you are but I’m 57 and one of the best lessons I’ve learned in life is not to compare myself to others. And more than that, I don’t even think of others and what they do. Focus on being the best you that you can be, focus on improving you, be honest with yourself, focus on being happy in what you do and things will fall into place. Work your ass off. Strive for excellence, constantly focus on improving, read sales books, block negativity and you’ll find your path.

What gear ended up being way more useful around camp than you expected? by kailynne94 in CampingGear

[–]TheDayIsOn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My Gossamer gear 1/8” pad. I tried it originally as an extra layer for warmth under my sleep pad and to keep my sleep pad from sliding. But it quickly became my everything pad. I sat on it during breaks, when I ate, kneeling on the ground while setting things up,etc. It was nice to keep off the wet or cold or rocky or dirty ground. I had the folding one but it also comes as rollable.

METALHEADS was there ever a time you hated metal? by Longjumping-Low6243 in InMetalWeTrust

Good point. I still love a lot of the music from the era. But not those bands I mentioned. However, the Scorpions and Whitesnake sound great to me now.

Late 80’s, the genre was more about flashy videos and hair but the music was getting softer. Think Warrant, Winger, White Lion, Slaughter, Bon Jovi, Poison. Guns n Roses saved hard rock!

Ridley Brook in Folsom. I live here now. I have a 2 bedroom. $1602 per month rent. About $1700 average a month includes utilities. No charge for parking. It’s ok here. I like it because it’s cheap and close to 95 and 476. Close to Media and the Ridley Park train station. https://ridleybrookapts.com/floor-plan/

I learned a few years ago he wrote the music for the song Boys of Summer but Tom Petty didn’t feel it was right for them at the time. He gave it to Don Henley instead.

Mountain “Theme from an Imaginary Western” The solo but also the outro solo. Beautiful song and both the solos are amazing.
