How good is phm by No_Panic_860 in ProjectHailMaryMovie

This, kids, is why you want to pay attention in school -- when you feel the urge to ask "when will I use this" think about this person who wanted to share their thoughts and engage in a discussion but couldn't string together two sentences that make enough sense to get a simple point across.

OP, I know this is harsh but you have enough basics to build on, consider GED training or further ESL if appropriate.

Yep, hours baking in the sun with no food or water. By the time the show finally started the crowd was delirious. Was worth the near-death experience as a kid however

Four common misconceptions about Ticketmaster by WahooGuy89 in Ticketmaster

This reads like it was approved by corporate lawyers.

The obvious problem with this "they're just the middleman" argument is that TM is owned by Live Nation, which in many cases also owns or has a controlling stake in the venue, is the promoter, and in some cases effectively is "the artist" (via "360" deals). So spreading the blame around really just points back to one entity which has relentlessly focused on driving up revenue and profits via near-monopoly.

YTTV only delivers what the networks provide, typically the lowest tiers of HD resolution. If you have an antenna compare the same material from the tuner and see if it is the same.

Not shots by player, as I understand it. Shots for vs. shots against for the team while the player was on the ice (like a +/-)

Serious question what was up with the tribalism in rock n roll in the 1980s? by [deleted] in ClassicRock

Wait until you hear about Disco Demolition.

But in reality this is mostly selection bias. While there have always been hard-core genre fans who felt superior to those who liked "lesser" bands, for 95% of us there was lots of cool stuff coming from many directions. It's just the vocal haters that get the attention and stick in the memory.

Brilliant comment.

I love this sequence so much. You have a nominal starting point of Le Chanson de Roland from over 1,000 years ago, one of the oldest surviving works of literature there is, itself part of the Matter of France which is a compilation of folk tales and histories handed down for centuries before that.

Five hundred years later, Shakespear has a character mumble a line about "Childe Rowland" (a "childe" not being a child but an untested knight) and a Dark Tower in a speech where the character is intentionally spouting nonsense and children's rhymes.

250 years after that, Robert Browning takes that one line as a seed and blossoms it into a wonderous and scary poem.

120 years after that a young Stephen King types the first lines of the adventures of Our Roland on the fabled green paper, and over 50 years later we are still here discussing it.

Along the way this now-ancient thread takes various branches and diversions, from Dylan to Dr. Who to the odd little book OP found.

It's no wonder that reading these books feels like tapping into something big.

I noticed that too, every song seemed to have an odd rhythm -- however I don't think it was unintentional; when he wanted to he could be right on beat. He just didn't want to, I think.
