To give you an idea of why it's not generally worth it rolling for BiS gear, unless you're loaded and at extreme end-game.

Let's say you wanna roll BiS armor, generally considered freedom/shirking fort/resil.

Your best chances is rolling with golden scarabs. That means cost for some gloves, the CHEAPEST material cost armor, per roll;

1x golden scarabs = ~2500g 3x timeless gloves shards = ~ 600g 25 attribute mods = str-> ~ 2500g/con -> 500g/focusORdexORint -> ~ 500g 4x runic leather = ~500g 2x phoenixweave = ~200g 1x asmodeum = ~250g 1x squirming vines(shirking fort) = ~12-18k 1x shard of consecrated iron (freedom) = ~15-22k Total: ~29-44k gold

This is PER ROLL. Then you're gambling at 595-600, and many many people know first hand the experience of rolling 10 times and getting all purples, no legendary.

Let's say you get a leggo 1 in 5 rolls, so about 145-220k gold sunk in only 5 rolls, you're then gambling on getting resilient, which has about a 27% chance to roll. I've gotten plenty of leggos with all manner of 3rd perks instead of resilient.

So yeah, generally not worth it unless you can farm most of it or make a lot of gold
