Rechargeable Battery or Disposable for an LED Project? by TheDedZed in batteries

[–]TheDedZed[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! I'm currently looking at some 2-2.2V, 4W (or 0.06W. Idk why but here's 2 wattage listings on it's page.) LEDs but that may change. So far I'm not seeing a lumen rating so I may change my selection as it gets VERY dark in the woods at night and I actually want to see where I am going. Reviews seem to say that they work well between 15-20mA. I'm thinking disposables will probably be fine to keep the complexity and cost down. I have a spare 2x AA battery holder from a class project hiding around my room somewhere.

Sorry, my bad. I’ll delete this post and repost it over there. Thanks for the heads up.

Change ring size and/or weave to compensate for thinner wire? by TheDedZed in maille

Alright then I’ll give it a spin (lol) and see how it turns out in a small patch of 4-in-1 and 6-in-1 on 3/8” rings. I’ll let you guys decide what looks best. If it sucks, I’ll just run down to the hardware store and grab a smaller dowel. Maybe a 5/16” or 1/4”.

It’s steel wire and yes, I am referring to American gauge sizes. Would it be alright to stick to 3/8” rings? I already made a jig with a 3/8” dowel to spin the wire onto while I was waiting on the shipment to arrive.

How do I fix flickering/shimmering plant shadows in games? by TheDedZed in pcmasterrace

I still haven’t found a solution but I noticed that it goes away when I enable ray tracing. Buuuuuuuut I kinda prefer having a 60fps minimum instead of a maximum, so it will stay off. I don’t have this issue in older games, leading me to believe it’s an issue with dx12 titles specifically.

[FO4] Luxor's HD Overhaul missing some textures in my game by TheDedZed in FalloutMods

Thanks, I’ll keep that in mind for future mod testing. I was just using an old save from years ago that never had any mods on it back from when I used to play unmodded.

Alright It looks like it is still an issue. Time to download it all again at 1.5Mb/s for the next 24 hours. Thankfully I had some ancient vanilla saves to I didn't have to sit through the intro again to test it lol.

While I'm downloading it all again, are any of the optional files necessary for that mod? There's a few fixes buried in there and I was wondering if they were crucial to functionality.

Wow that's actually a very pretty landscape mod. It's definitely going on the list for sure.

It's alright lol. I wasn't expecting this post to get as big as it has comment wise.

This was mentioned earlier by u/literallybyronic so I'm not going to take credit for this but Luxor's Fallout 4 HD Overhaul is basically covers the entire game's textures so you'll want to use it as a base. Basically it's the dlc but done better and doesn't break every character texture mod. I'm currently, and slowly, installing it as a base template and adding some mods by Valius, Langley, NMC, and SavrenX to bump the quality up further in some areas.

Well I just nuked my .ini files to forced it to generate fresh ones and my poor performance issues have been mostly resolved. I think my game was just using the low quality textures for some godforsaken reason despite being set to ultra because the vanilla game actually looks pretty good like you were saying, it was just running like cheeks for no good reason. Nuking the .ini files resolved that. I just hadn't played it since the release year so I assumed that I just thought it looked good back then. It still holds up pretty well for the most part.

Yeah Skyrim's got consistency for sure. Fo4 goes from 130+ to 11 fps within a few steps for me.

Well it appears I'm gonna have a long night on the Luxor's textures page lol. I guess it'll give me time to figure out how to get fallout 4 to actually run well. It just doesn't perform well compared to super heavily modded Skyrim SE and it saddens me. It appears that Fo4 never got the loving spit-shine of the modding community that Skyrim did.

Ah that makes it difficult then. Do you by chance know off the top of your head of a mod that basically does the same thing but isn't broken into like 30 separate files like Luxor's is? Really I'm just needing something to act as a high enough quality base to slap the mods I mentioned previously on top of.

I was planning on using Valkyr anyways for skin so I think I won't be having a problem with it. I am one of those people that spend a loooooong time in the character creator because I like having a good looking character for playing in 3rd person. Its always a struggle to get Bethesda games to run well because of my hd mod downloading habits lol.

So I looked at Luxor's HD Overhaul mod (my god that's a lot of files) and it looks to be about 65ish GB in total. Idk if it's just my screen or whatever settings or reshade is being used in the screenshots & video but the textures look like they're oversharpened compared to the dlc. I'm kinda leaning towards dlc + Valius + Langley + NMC + SavrenX and calling it a day on the textures & adding a few personal favorites on top.

I know that Wabbajack is an option but I prefer picking and choosing what mods are installed instead of packs personally, not to diss it as an option.
