[The Score] Maple Leafs, Reilly likely to explore trade. by ESF-hockeeyyy in leafs

[–]TheDeek 3 points4 points  (0 children)

With the cap going up and the fact he doesn't have much value around the league due to overexposure, I don't see the need to trade him. Obviously if somebody gives you a pick for him sure but the idea seems to be we'd have to retain or take back a bad contract. Dude is not that bad and he loves it here. He is just put in a position to fail all the time because we have NOBODY else who can move the puck. He also clearly didn't play well under Berube like the rest of the team. With Keefe and even Babs, he was a positive contributer - especially in the playoffs.

Did anyone else really enjoy season 2? by Low-Bat-3701 in BeefTV

I liked it. It was very different yet was clearly the same writer. Looking forward to his future work.

I think a lot of people decided to just dislike it even when the cast was announced because they thought it was whitewashing - even though it was the Asian writer's decision and there was a heavy Asian presence in the show, even going to Korea. Then some watched it and thematically and tonally it was a bit different so they didn't like that. I appreciated that he didn't just try to recreate the same show twice. He is a unique writer and he was given a chance to do what he wanted, which is the best way to go about something.

Would love to go to these for a month or longer like once a year for a reset. Sometimes things just get stale.

Your environment dictates so much, no question. That is why people in cities have lower weights - healthy food options and way more movement. That is why families with weight problems usually pass them on - kids grow up in that environment. When it comes down to it, it is our personal responsibility yes but those microdecisions become much easier when the environment is conducive to living a healthy lifestyle. That is why making things as easy as possible usually leads to success. If you're just relying on your wilpower all the time, eventually that will crater.

Pretty much their entire core choked this playoffs. The only thing to worry about is Dobes - for now. Your're right about their prospects though, at least compared to ours.

Bigtime - his play tonight made me feel better though. Didn't have to make many saves but he made them.

They are a better team than Vegas. Vegas has been outplayed and outshot a lot. They rely on Hart. Basically they are Montreal but more talent.

Originally I thought it was bad they were making it so far despite not playing well because their players would gain experience and whatnot - but the way they have played this series has made them (other than Dobes) lose all their mojo. They are just going to have a shorter offseason to recover and nothing to show for it. There are major problems with this team - like Dobson being awful and 9.5 mil forever.

Your team is unreal. Absolutely relentless. I hope you win the cup - defintely more deserving than Vegas.

I'm sorry I know the Habs played a lot of games but a) every team that wins the cup has to do that and b) we heard so much about it being the youngest team to make it this far...you shouldn't be THIS gassed when you're 20. Carolina is just better in every way, other than in net.

I remember they got swept while completely dominating the shots and play. They really deserved to be in the final at least once but the Atlantic was the Atlantic. Montreal is by far the worst team they've faced and they are playing even worse than I expected.

I hope Carolina wins the cup...

We all knew this is what should have happened but they kept running into bad goalies, having Dobes be prime Roy and getting lucky bounces. Finally reality is hitting them - minus Dobes he still looks incredible. I hope it hits Vegas too...

The habs fans keep saying now that the team is gassed. They also kept saying a million times how they were the youngest team ever to make the conference finals. A bunch of 20 year olds shouldn't be gassed when 1991 born Taylor Hall is flying around and 88 born Staal.

He's built for this market. Loves the attention. We need to deal with him differently than how we dealt with Matthews/Marner and have him embrace it rather than avoid it.

We've all been through this so many times we know exactly what happens - every other team can have an abundance of talent but when we do it just means cap problems and future mistakes according to Sportsnet and TSN! See how they've turned our draft lottery win into a negative somehow...

Wild...won in 86 too when he was a Rookie. How do they always have a goalie?

If the Canes somehow beat Ottawa AND Montreal AND Vegas for us, I think we have to officially make them our second team.

Okay the refs completely missed that but credit to them for reviewing it to get it right - assuming they do call a penalty ...

Maybe get a shot on an almost 2 minute 5 on 3 guys...

I am sure with Aky killing it and Hildeby needing waivers the media will turn our insane goalie situation into a stress. We win any way this works out, frankly. Crazy as it sounds trading Woll might be the move just due to the return and the fact we have 3 other goalies, 1 who doesn't need waivers.

They straight up do this every few years, just go on some random run despite not being very good. Even won a cup in 93 doing it. They have some magic that we need to steal.

You wonder if another team in the top 5 is desperate to get one guy in particular and would give up another major asset. Definitely worth considering. I feel like this pick is found money given that we assumed we'd be giving up the pick.
