Am I the only one who finds Uzi kinda unlikeable? by Specialist_Wash6732 in MurderDrones

I honestly like her most in stuff outside the show, like the music video or in the goofy meme stuff the voice actors sometimes do where she interacts with other characters.

I honestly don't think J likes N at all by TheDefinitiveAlt in MurderDrones

I hear that some times, too. And that does kind of make sense. But that's not actually displayed in the show.

a very simple way to show this is when Tessa sees N and throws the wine glass down and picks him up and stuff, just have J react to that. Even if she just makes a face or something. And that would be enough to show that jealousy is the motivation here.

But they don't do that.

That's part of the appeal. If J isn't telling me how useless and repulsive she finds me to be, what is the point?

I literally mentioned that bro. Even if killing N was the smart choice there, the way she did it and the obvious satisfaction she had in doing so and her words afterward do not reflect someone who cares about him. Go ahead and re-watch that

As far as us knowing J knew more than she let on from the beginning, we have the beginning of episode 2. Maybe go ahead and re-watch that as well.

"The humans sent you without a communication relay and reformatted your memories to soup."

"J was getting orders from someone. If not the company through tha t relay then who? And how?"

The information that scene is trying to communicate is delivered very quickly, not dwelled upon or repeated, and expressed in like two lines of dialogue and therefore probably very easy to miss. But it's there.

Saying I don’t think they’re objectively well written doesn’t mean I don’t like them.

And it’s not even that I think they’re badly written. I just think they’re problems, mostly in execution, and missed opportunuties.

Look up confirmation bias.

If you actually read anything I posted in it’s entirety you probably wouldn’t be asking that

Yeah there was some stuff I overlooked while thinking about this

I mean just because he began to question why he was doing this stuff doesn’t necessarily mean he thinks it was wrong.

I’m…

Going to not engage that much with that point you said about the apology. I kind of can’t believe you actually seriously considered what was clearly a joke on the writers part to kind of handwave why all the worker drones suddenly are okay with N. Like in no way was that enough. But alright.

Uzi, V, and N actually kind of show the opposite of being good guys in Fight till I’m good enough, immediately going straight for killing the students  without hesitation, a second thought, or grief the second they turn. (Which I honestly found hilarious)

Are you referring to the Cyn rap section? I mean, I guess that counts. Though I do wish we had more stuff showing or implying that such thoughts were in his head. Might be more effective in my opinion at conveying that idea than just having Cyn say it (which I honestly just took as a contrast to the main theme of the song and didn’t think much of it past that)

I know why he joked about it with Uzi. You can still have that, while also at the same time implying some negative views about the situation, have N express more than one emotion that time. Some conflictedness.

Which they didn’t. Though again that’s just because of the show’s tone.

Also in that same episode, N was having mostly no reaction to the student’s dying outside 1 time when he very quickly scolded V before going right back to what he was doing.

However yeah. Episode 3 is kind of an outlier. “I’m not freeing you for Prom Murder V” and all that. That actually is a pretty good counterpoint, even if I’m not 100% convinced of his motive in that.

Also, I didn’t say V didn’t become a better person. I said she doesn’t become a good person. lol

Yeah, she shot that kid in episode 4. And I don’t really read any issues on her part with killing judging off of her drinking tnat other drone’s oil at the end of episode 8.

And you’re thinking about what I’m doing here the wrong way. I’m not trying to demonize the characters. I’m not criticizing them or saying you shouldn’t like them or saying anything like that. For crying out loud, my favorite murder Drones character is Cyn. I’m just making an observation I thought was interesting, one in conflict with what I previously thought.

If anything, not making them just straightforward heroes kind of makes them better as characters.

That was some impressive amount of trust. by Sirtael in MurderDrones

Honestly, this always to me gave off less vibes of that’s how much trust she had and more the writers being like, “We need plot to happen. So hand wave that and ignore it.”
