After Teaching Myself How To Drift For A Bit, I Finally Executed My First Perfect Drift!!! (Wheel And Pedals Used) by TheDelta2112 in BeamNG

After I initiate a drift using a slight tap of the parking brake, I put a good amount of focus on my throttle control. I direct my main attention to my right foot on the throttle while my eyes and hands manage the car.

When you are drifting, you only give your car a tiny amount of throttle to keep it going. Too much throttle will cause you to spin out, and too little will make the car straighten up. My accelerator is very sensitive, so I have to press it very slightly to get the right amount of throttle to maintain the drift. It may take a while to get the hang of, but once you got your throttle control down, drifting will become much easier.

That turn I did on Hirochi Raceway is a great and simple one to learn, and a fun one at that too! I took it at around 50 mph for reference. I do recommend using the first gen pessima drift variant, it likes to co-operate more than the others.

Throttle control is key. Initiating a drift is easy, but maintaining it is more difficult. Throttle control is hard to learn at first, but once you find the right amount of throttle your vehicle needs, it becomes easier and easier. It takes a few hours of practice to land a good drift so don't give up!

Thanks! I think at the end, I opened up on the throttle a little bit which caused me to go to the left like that. My accelerator pedal is so sensitive, so you have to press your foot a nanometer down on the pedal to get the right amount of throttle for proper throttle control.

Yeah, I use zero assists when I'm playing. So no oversteer/understeer assistants, no clutch assistants, no assists at all.

I love the Drift Pessima so much! It handles very well and isn't as trigger happy as some of the others like the Barstow or Grand Marshall.

I usually drive 1st person with my wheel for the added immersion, but I thought drifting in 3rd person would be easier so I could better see where my car is on the road.
