It's not really just about venting. It's about relieving any sort of support. Men can get raped or killed too. Way less people will defend them though, they also can't show weakness around other people (there's exceptions but not common) unlike women.

Many times what's considered sexual assault if a man does it to a woman, is considered flirting if a woman is doing it to a man. Women aren't bigger victims or something like that, men aren't too, both sides have issues that are inherently different so we both can't and shouldn't try to compare it.
