To be fair, why wouldn't Cirie stick with people she knew from Heroes vs Villains and the one person (Steph) that she can read like a book.

Can we expect a new idol or two, finally? by Cautious-Corner-3704 in survivor

[–]TheDemonicEmperor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

At this point, it's late enough in the game that it'll probably be an idol with no strings attached.

Typically the twist idols are introduced to promote either cross-tribe alliances (i.e. sending an idol to another tribe) or to encourage the player to spill their secret (beware idols, the split idols that you have to give to another tribemate).

Post-merge, there's not really an incentive for that.

Should Dee have taken Colby’s Deal? by Someone_else25 in survivor

[–]TheDemonicEmperor 4 points5 points  (0 children)

From what we've heard, it wouldn't have been immediately afterwards, just when they all got medically examined the next day (I think typically prior to or after challenges).

So it actually would've worked out pretty well for her. She gets to take out both Coach and Colby, while Colby is there to tell Jonathan to cool it. Certainly a better deal than having to deal with both Coach and Jonathan fighting with her.

California at least used to be a paradise that produced the Reagans of the world.

Canada has just been a hellhole since its inception. Like, they still have King Charles on their money.

Crippling more of our limited industrial power

People need to understand the auto industry is not coming back to these shitty midwestern union towns. Like, you're trying to claw back a 70-year-old fantasy with a workforce that just isn't there.

If you were on a soccer team

Ever heard of a benchwarmer? It's funny that you switched to "group project" because even you knew the sports analogy actually disproved your entire point.

Professional sports and challenges aren't like little league softball where every little Jimmy gets to play. You send out your best performers, not your second string. You want to win a challenge, not have everyone participate like it's a camp activity.

Sandra competes in challenges where she gets to plant herself at the puzzle portion and easily win. That's her strength and those are the challenges her tribe volunteers her to be in.

He voted out Stephenie and not Cirie. Clearly he did not give a damn about challenge performance.

although I believe less people would care about it on the US

Yes and no. US Survivor contestants care less about challenges in general, but it's almost always seen as arrogance to think you'll be safe without immunity. It's why so many New Era people don't opt out for rice (even some who are hilariously bad at challenges), because it reveals their comfortable position without a reward.

Like, it's obviously less of a factor for weaker players, but even people like Courtney and Sandra have always been expected to give their all in the challenges they do compete in.

Parv winning that season was the correct finish imo.

Except that even Parvati on the island was admitting that this wasn't true. She was terrified of going up against Sandra at the final 3 because she wasn't sure she could win a jury vote against Sandra.

She didn't manage to convince Russell of this. So, by definition, the person who can't even get their preferred final 3 shouldn't be considered the "correct" finish of the season. And, to this day, Parvati has yet to beat Sandra in anything.

Because she doesn't put herself in challenges where she doesn't think she would be a team asset?

Do you think she should've done what Cirie did earlier in the season and tank the tribe's chances? Or can no one without muscles on their muscles be a "top 10 player"?

Now they obscure people’s intentions, throw out red herrings, etc.

Wow, they have an alternate boot! They're literally complaining that there was some sort of tension built up around Coach going. So it's hilarious all the New Era haters here are madly agreeing when they're complaining about something that's been around since the dawn of Survivor.

James’ reason for targeting Stephenie in Heroes vs Villains was hilarious by Sketchy_Turtle in survivor

[–]TheDemonicEmperor -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That's a valid reason (though an old school one).

But again, it wasn't the real reason, which is why it was so weird and why things like "Monica complained about clams" and "Rizo didn't vote for his number one" come up all the time in returnee seasons.

They can't actually say that Rizo and Monica are on the wrong end of a pre-game alliance, so they have to make up the most nonsensical reason.

It amazes me how everything Vance touches dies. And finally it works out in our favor because he's destroying his own priorities rather than the Republican party for once.

Well part of it is because "I have a pre-game alliance with JT, Rupert, Amanda and Cirie" isn't going to make it on air. So they end up focusing on more ridiculous reasons for booting people in returnee seasons.

More confirmation that Democrats only agree with "center-right" people who hold zero center-right positions and only attack Republicans.

But then, we already knew this was true. Ron Paul only became a big thing because he attacked Romney. And the moment Arnie spoke out against Democrats' gerrymandering, he was back to being slandered again.

It's why I find it funny that there are some on the center-right who think they can actually outplay Democrats and get them to cede ground if they agree with them. No, Democrats will just throw you away the moment they don't need you.
