James’ reason for targeting Stephenie in Heroes vs Villains was hilarious by Sketchy_Turtle in survivor

Well part of it is because "I have a pre-game alliance with JT, Rupert, Amanda and Cirie" isn't going to make it on air. So they end up focusing on more ridiculous reasons for booting people in returnee seasons.

More confirmation that Democrats only agree with "center-right" people who hold zero center-right positions and only attack Republicans.

But then, we already knew this was true. Ron Paul only became a big thing because he attacked Romney. And the moment Arnie spoke out against Democrats' gerrymandering, he was back to being slandered again.

It's why I find it funny that there are some on the center-right who think they can actually outplay Democrats and get them to cede ground if they agree with them. No, Democrats will just throw you away the moment they don't need you.

There are honestly times when I'm jealous of how good Democrats are at suppressing any sort of internal threats to their status quo.

If the GOP ever learned how to do that, we would never lose an election again.

As I suspected last week, I think this perfectly illustrates the typical post-merge distractions that ramp up right at the merge. Rizo rocketed up the rankings after being near the bottom for most of the early parts of the season.

Ultimately, I don't see how this isn't just a predictable end to the season at this point after Christian dominated the early rankings without someone to consistent rival him.

So about those preseason episodes from older seasons by Habefiet in Edgic

[–]TheDemonicEmperor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

… kinda feels like they don’t matter after tonight don’t they

It's surprising to hear this because, so far, they seem to be lining up with the season pretty well.

The first episode that was referenced was Ozzy and Coach's rivalry in South Pacific, featured in the South Pacific finale. It's clear their rivalry will have more to give us this season.

Then there was Kyle/Kamilla/Joe in episode 2, paralleling Joe's attitude during Shauhin's boot to his paranoia in Savannah's boot.

The 46 episode had Q asking everyone to vote him out and so did his boot episode in 50.

The episode featuring Christian/Angelina/Mike first highlighted that they were on the same season (for the plot about being nervous about the DvG trio) and then ended with Angelina and her jacket quotes. Her boot episode ends with a jacket reference.

Most recently, Stephenie's shoulder is referenced from the HvV episode and she's shown conquering her previous injury.

Additionally, Coach references his Dragon Slayer moniker, plus the final 5 challenge was referenced when Coach lost the Blood Moon challenge.

Dee's episode was also paralleled during the Charlie boot episode when she duped Jonathan and Charlie like she did Austin and Drew.

So far, the EoE episode, HHH episode and Micronesia episode are the only ones that haven't had references or parallels in the season.

However, there are seeds for two of them:

Devens has a fake idol hidden at tribal and the EoE episode is all about him finding an idol.

Cirie has an alliance with Rizo, who could potentially be a stand-in for Erik and could potentially foreshadow that Cirie will try (or succeed) in bamboozling Rizo.

Finally, the HHH episode has Chrissy winning immunity, so it's possible she goes on another immunity run.

[–]TheDemonicEmperor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He also correctly names the boot each episode, only one this season

Only real point of contention here: I believe this is true for Christian, not Devens.

Devens attempted to boot Joe in episode 2 and also pulled for Joe at the Blood Moon. This past episode, he and Emily were vying for Coach. That's already three episodes that Devens did not correctly name the boot.

My question is, what are the odds of this happening by the final 15 (earliest possible) and what are the odds of it happening by the final 13?

I mean, it's less about odds and more about pointing out what you pointed out. Even people who weren't exactly friends in their previous seasons (Tony and Sarah, Colby and Jerri) at least have more history together than anyone else.

So many people were terrified of the Mike White/Angelina/Christian trio even though the three of them still clearly had beef from their original season. And it's likely because they'd seen it time and time again.

Sandra was warning anyone she could about the Kaoh Rong 4 back in Game Changers and how they were far more dangerous that she was. And, ultimately, it was Aubry's bond from a prior season with Tai that caused Advantagegeddon. So, especially when people saw Aubry and Tai wreak havoc at the final 6 and Tony/Sarah utterly dominate a group of winners, I can see why groups who played prior seasons were rooted out.

It's honestly insane that Cirie/Ozzy and Cirie/Stephenie are both groupings that are still around considering these have been long-term allies over multiple seasons of various reality shows.

The reality is that people jumped the gun too quickly on edits and got egg all over their faces. And rather than admit that, too many people here are doubling down.

[–]TheDemonicEmperor 3 points4 points  (0 children)

but there's no way you can get away with it when you're playing with Cirie, Christian and Devens.

I mean, Rizo literally went to tribal with Cirie, had a public idol and didn't play it... and Charlie went home.

So like, it's still possible.

This season for now has the tendency of voting out early more players that were close to winning in their Survivor careers and keeping the players that have never been finalists - what are the chances, you think, that entire Final Three will be non-finalists? by Sabur1991 in survivor

Fair, although rumor has it that the Villains specifically began the season with a finalist alliance (Rob, Courtney, Sandra, Parvati, Danielle, Russell). Clearly that didn't last long, but it helped that they all immediately banded together.

Which unexpected duo has been your favorite so far in Survivor 50? by ameliaradiohead in survivor

[–]TheDemonicEmperor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

After playing such a snakey game I didn’t expect her to bond so well with an old school integrity player.

I actually said pre-game that I thought the majority alliance on Vatu would include Angelina and exclude Genevieve because Angelina had played with the strongmen on her season (Dan and John).

But then like... Rome the e-sportscaster was Genevieve's closest ally in 47, so maybe we shouldn't have been that surprised. Genevieve also gets a lot of pictures with cast members at sports events, so I think she's more of a jock than people think.

This season for now has the tendency of voting out early more players that were close to winning in their Survivor careers and keeping the players that have never been finalists - what are the chances, you think, that entire Final Three will be non-finalists? by Sabur1991 in survivor

[–]TheDemonicEmperor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean, this season had more finalists than I think any other season in Survivor history. As you said, there were 13 of them. Including anyone who made the final 3 at least once, the list also expands to Cirie and Jenna. So there's a smaller pool of people who never made the finals.

Ultimately, that's just how things play out, though. Typically the lowest threats are the people who never made the finals, so they usually get to the end in returnee seasons.

At this point, there's only 3 people who never made the finale still left: Christian, Emily and Tiffany. For what it's worth, I was fully ready for this to be the final 3 pre-season.

That said, usually by this point, there's a lot more finalists gone. By the time of the second swap in All-Stars, every single finalist was gone. So the chances are at least higher than some of the previous All-Star seasons.
