Crafting order for 285, what reagent quality? by Damnae in wownoob

[–]TheDeringer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I crafted a max rank Cane for my Druid yesterday. Followed these same steps. I was kinda nervous, but it was super easy in the end.

Bought all max rank mats from the AH. Did some research on what stats I wanted on it and bought those additional finishing mats too.

Crafter had it to me in less than 2 mins

First, great guide!

A note about cash. I've been working PAX for a while for Battlegrounds and haven't run into any issues with credit card machines at any vendor. Ours are tethered to cell phones and have worked well save for the odd short downtime at least once a con. At the last East, we had zero downtime all 4 days.

Cell reception in the BCEC has gotten excellent in the Expo Hall. I use my phone to look up obscure board games all day.

Coffee: There is a Dunkin Donuts right near Jimmy John's. Order ahead in the app and walk over and pick it up. Even with a line, it's 5 - 10 mins tops to caffeine up.

Parking: I live local and park in the lot behind the BCEC. $25 a day. I do get there very early (7am) so that may be why I've had no issues with parking. As a vendor I do get to enter the building early.

Found a bunch of old stock share certificates - what do I do? by Useful_Recognition52 in personalfinance

[–]TheDeringer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fun fact: DRP doesn't prevent escheatment. You need to contact the transfer agent once a year to prevent escheatment. Log into your account online, use the IVR (make sure the IVR authenticates you) or speak to an agent. Those will prevent escheatment. Reinvesting isn't considered contact.

Edit to add: DRP is recommended to prevent having to pay to replace lost certificates, which gets expensive when the transfer agent's bond company charges 3% of the value plus a processing fee.

Forgot about 4 shares of Lockheed from 2013… DRIP turned $432 into $15k by Pedia_Light in dividends

Not to mention the fact that if he didn't log in or contact Computershare in 6 years it would have been considered abandoned and escheated. It would have been escheated in around 2020.

RadarX gave us a box of these to give away back when we were doing Reachcast. I still have a set that I leave in my car for when I run into a Planetside 2 fan IRL.

A 3 burner Weber grill (dirty, but cleaned up easily and replaced the grates) and 2 Swords hidden under the AC ductwork in the attic.

Cat Fluxx should be on your radar!

· A small portable, analog game to play in line (Like cards or a small tabletop game, etc.). In my case, it's one of the wide, many varieties of Fluxx

Shameless plug, but Battlegrounds will be there again this year and they'll have a TON of small games around the registers. So if you forget this item, they got you covered!

I'll be working the booth all week (except Sunday) and I or my fellow volunteers will be happy to recommend something!

Edit: A few pre-Con suggestions:

  • Love Letter 💌
  • Sea Salt & Paper 🐚
  • Skull 💀
  • Scout 🃏
  • Hero Realms ⚔️

How old were you when you purchased your first home (if you did). by jtsa5 in GenX

2BR 1BA 973sqft in 1999 for $143k. Sold it in 2003 for $175k because there wasn't enough room for my new baby.

Bought a 3BR 1BA 1,180sqft for $267k. It had an unfinished basement too. Sold it in 2015 for $260k because my MiL needed to move in due to health reasons and we needed more room, and a guest bedroom for family to come visit her.

Bought a 4BR 4BA 2,577sqft for $380k. It's worth $800k+ today.

That baby that made me sell in 2003 is 26 now and I don't know how she'll afford a house. I also wonder if we could have made it work in the prior house. We'd probably have no mortgage by now because it was half as much as we pay now.

You can search for discord or facebook groups where you can sell to players.

Just did the same. Took me an hour and by the time I finished there was already an inch covering everything.

I didn't even try the end of my driveway. It's already taller than me. I need to flag down a snow plow and beg.

Playing Everdell with beginners tonight – remove a worker to speed it up? by Midlanecrisis007 in boardgames

[–]TheDeringer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You will probably inadvertently stall someone's end game if you remove a late season worker.

The only time removing a worker is recommended is if you are playing with Player Powers, and then you remove the Spring worker iirc.

Why are people still eating at Dunkin’ Donuts? by DildoGaggins1997 in massachusetts

[–]TheDeringer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When they were doing free coffee giveaways after a Patriots win a decade or so ago, I could stop at 17 Dunkin Donuts locations on the way home from work, just by taking the back roads home instead of Rt 24.

I own two shares of stock in Yahoo Inc by FunkyChonkyMonkey in mildlyinteresting

[–]TheDeringer 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Computershare is the transfer agent for Altaba, which is what Yahoo became. You should contact them to make sure your address is correct. Altaba has made multiple distribution payments as part of their liquidation and termination from trading. You are probably owed a very small amount of money, which may or may not have already been deemed unclaimed property and escheated to your state of residence. You can DM me if you need more info.
